So the game's in New York, not Boston or Chicago, right?

Baseball Update:
The 2008 All-Star starters and reserves were announced, with the AL team stocked up with Red Sox players, while the Cubs represent three NL starters. Click here to see if one of your favorites made the list for the AL and here for the NL. The NL and AL both have one more spot to fill and it's up to you to vote in the final pick. My NL Choice is Aaron Rowand, so don't be afriad to follow suit!!! (Actually, I'm kind of begging)

Vladimir Guerrero will likely join Lance Berkman, Josh Hamilton, Dan Uggla and Chase Utley in the Homerun Derby on July 14th. Vlad, who was not named to the all-star team, will be trying to defend his title.

The other big news from this weekend, was the C.C. Sabathia trade. Sabathia will be heading to the Brewers for prospects Matt LaPorta, Rob Bryson, Zach Jackson and a player to be named later. The Brewers topped the news with a 11-6 yanking of the Pirates that included homers by J.J. Hardy and Ryan Braun. The Indians however got swept by the Twins, with Minnesota's 4-3. This was the first loss for Cliff Lee since May 18th.

Sunday was a day of close games and come from behind wins. Yankees rookie Bret Gardner hit a game winning single in the 10th to give New York a 5-4 win over the Red Sox. The win split the four game series at two a piece...Meanwhile the Mets faced off against their biggest rivals the Phillies with Fernando Tatis earsing a blown save by Billy Wagner with a two-run homer in the 12th to top the Phils, 4-2. Earlier in the day the Phillies announced they had extended closer Brad Lidge's contract by three years...The Tigers and Mariners fought until the bitter end with Detroit edging Seattle, 2-1 in the 15th inning. The Mariners were forced to use back-up catcher Jamie Burke as their 15th inning pitcher...And the Braves concluded a marathon game against the Astros with a Mark Teixeira walk-off single in the 17th inning to give the Braves a 7-6 victory. Lance Berkman mustered only a pinch hit a bat in the 15th inning after waking up Sunday with a sore left eye.

Besides the incredible ending to Sunday's game, not all is well in the Bronx. Johnny Damon has landed himself on the DL for the first time in his career with a shoulder injury while third baseman Alex Rodriguez could be single once again if reports of are true. Cynthia Rodriguez (aka C-Rod) is expected to file divorce papers on Monday.

Randy Johnson proved he still has it, mowing down 10 batters on his way to his fifth win of the season. Mark Reynolds hit a towering solo shot in the sixth which ended up being the deciding run in the D'Backs 3-2 victory over the Padres.

Cody Ross had a whale of a game knocking in five runs the Marlins 10-5 lashing of the Rockies. The game was one of the few blowouts of Sunday.

Speaking of blow outs, the Rays provided one of their own with their 9-2 win over the Royals. The win was the Rays seventh straight and opened up a five game lead over the Red Sox. Only the Angels, who have a six game advantage over the A's, has a bigger lead in their division.

The A's dropped a close one to the Chicago White Sox, 4-3. Oakland threatened in the ninth scoring a run off of Scott Linebrink, but Jack Cust flew out with runners on first and second to end the game. Chicago has won now won 10 out of their last 13 games.

DL News: The Braves continue to hurt sending infielder Omar Infante to the DL along with pitchers Manny Acosta and Jeff Bennett. The Braves have had 13 different players making 18 trips to the DL in the first three months of the season...The Nations will be without Elijah Dukes for 4-6 weeks with a knee injury...But good news out of St. Louis Mark Mulder is expected to make his first start of the season on Wednesday.

Nascar Update:
Martin Truex, Jr. and his team could be looking at a 150 point penalty after his team failed to pass initial inspection at Daytona last weekend.

It's good to race for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Nationwide Series. Denny Hamlin's victory on Friday was the 12th for the team and 13th a JGR driver, which includes Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart and Joey Logano in the Series.

Tony Stewart may have locked up sponsorship for next season in Office Depot for his phantom cup team.

We all knew Mark Martin was heading to Hendrick Motorsports in 2009, but admittly, I was a little surprised he'd be doing it full time.

News&Notes: As epic battles go, Rafael Nadal's 6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-7 (8), 9-7 victory over Roger Federer to take Wimbledon may have been the best ever seen...Nadal, will however miss out on the Mercedes Cup citing a knee problem...41 year old Dara Torres continues to impress setting an American record in the 50 m freestyle...A costly error by Scott Dixon handed Ryan Hunter-Ray his first career IndyCar win at Watkins Glen on Sunday.
