DEI Not for Sale

Despite reports to the contrary, DEI is not for sale, or so says president Max Siegel. Earlier internet reports had Teresa Earnhardt looking to sell the company her late husband Dale Earnhardt had formed with Teresa holding onto the rights to Dale Earnhardt’s licensing and branding.

"We are not for sale right now. Nothing is imminent," Siegel said on Tuesday.

However, DEI has not ruled out selling part of its ownership in the way that Roush and Evernham have done in the past year, they just currently don’t have anything lined up.

I don’t know where to go on this one. When I read the internet report that Teresa was selling I thought to myself, well that’s about a year late. But as Mark Martin jumps ship and the failure of the 1 car to stay in contention for the Chase for much of this season, maybe it’s time for some changes at the former powerhouse.

UPDATE: In other DEI news, Martin Truex, Jr., driver of the #1 Bass Pro Chevy's Chase chances took a huge hit after he was docked 150 driver points and DEI lost 150 owner points for falling to pass the initial inspection at Daytona. In addition to the points penalties, crew chief Kevin "Bono" Manion and car chief Gary Putnam have been suspended for the next six races and Manion was also fined $100,000.
It's been fun blogging with you,
