Coming up short

Baseball Update:
Josh Hamilton smashed 28 homers in the first round but came up short when it mattered falling to Justin Morneau 5-3, giving the Twins first baseman the 2008 Homerun Derby crown. Even without the win, I'm sure Hamilton had a night to remember. (For my photos from the Derby click here)

The final part of the three day event at Yankee Stadium is tonight with the NL hoping to beat the AL for the first time in what seems like forever. Click here for the AL/NL roster and here for the starting lineups.

The Nationals outfielder Wily Mo Pena will undergo shoulder surgery to repair a torn left rotator cuff.
Hold onto your hats, Braves pitcher Mike Hampton is scheduled to make his second rehab start. Who says he injures a quad during this outting? How about an oblique? Whatever it is, I don't see him taking the mound this season, although I would love him to prove me wrong!

Reports are surfacing that this could be Francisco Rodriguez's final year with the Los Angeles Angels. The closer plans to file for free agency at the end of the season.

The Dodgers aren't the only team getting out of Florida. The Cincinnati Reds are planning to move to Arizona beginning in 2010. They will share a facility with the Cleveland Indians.

A baseball cap worn by Babe Ruth sold at auction for $328,000.

Nascar Update:
Could Casey Mears be headed to the fourth Richard Childress car?...We'll have to wait on that but the Marbles have an interview with the soon-to-be free agent here.
Don't look to Joe Gibbs to follow fellow owners like Roush and Evernham and sell part of his ownership.

Following in the footsteps of Craftsman tools, Kobalt brand could become the new naming sponsor of the Truck Series.
Popo in my crib News:
The NBA's number 1 draft pick Derrick Rose has pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $1,000, placed on 6 months probation and ordered to take an online driving course. Rose was ticketed on April 29th for going 100 mph on interstate 88 near Aurora, Ill. Goodness, this isn't the autobahn. Watch out Derrick, because the popo are on your tail!
Looks like the Packers have more to worry about than just this whole Brett Farve mess after lineman Johnny Jolly, Jr. was arrested last week and charged with felony drug possession. Mr. Jolly was found by the popo to be in possession of at least 200 grams of a controlled substance (please let it be crack, please let it be crack!) in Houston. He posted $10,000 bond and was released. Well at least you weren't cutting said drugs in your car when you were arrested, step up my friend. But watch out Johnny, because the popo are on your tail!
News&Notes: Peyton Manning has undergone knee surgery to remove an infected bursa sac. He is expected to miss 4-6 weeks...A wrist injury could keep defending Bristish Open Champion Padraig Harrington from defending his title.
Check this out: A few months ago, I turned you guys all onto a little website called hulu.com. But not to be outdone by the NBC/Universal/Fox venture, CBS.com is posting few classic tv shows of their own on their website. Shows like Beverly Hills, 90210, Family Ties, MacGyver, Melrose Place, Twin Peaks and more. Click here to watch some more online TV!
