Argh!

Baseball Update:
Let's see, the past few days have been pretty eventful for the Red Sox, Manny Ramirez pushed a traveling secretary and apologized, the Red Sox received notice of death threats, although they're believed to be from Memphis, so probably not from the Yankees front office and then they lost to the Rays, 5-4, but they did score two in the ninth inning before the Rays Troy Pervical had to leave and James Howell came in to get the save. All-and-all a very eventful few days for the Red Sox, but I'm guessing they're ok with not repeating it in the near future.

In other Red Sox news, David Ortiz will attend the All-Star festivities in New York but will not be a part of them. So you can tell Big Papi where you want him to hit a homerun, he just ain't going to do it.

The Diamondbacks avoided falling under .500 with their 6-3 win over the Brewers, but it looks like they'll be without firefly Eric Byrnes again after he injured his left hamstring trying to steal a base. Byrnes had just returned from the DL with a right hamstring injury.

Arizona wasn't the only team facing a costly injury, Miguel Cabrera was forced to leave the Tigers 5-4 victory over the Twins with a tight left hip flexor, while the Mariners placed Felix Hernandez on the DL with a sprained ankle before falling to the Blue Jays, 2-0.

The Tigers pitcher Jeremy Bonderman had surgery to correct a condition which caused blood clotting in his pitching arm. While a time table for his return is not known, he is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Roy Oswalt had to be helped back to the clubhouse after straining his left hip abductor in the sixth inning. Oswalt tried to get back out on the mound in the seventh but was helped off by a trainer. The Astros were able to hold on, beating the Dodgers, 4-1. The Dodgers were without outfielder Juan Pierre after placing him on the DL with a sprained ligament in his left knee.

Shawn Chacon cleared waivers and was formally released by the Astros. The Players' Union has filed a grievance to have the Astros pay the remaining $987,607 of his $2 million salary.

It was a wild night for both Chicago teams as Nick Swisher launched a grand slam and a solo shot in the White Sox 9-7 defeat of the Indians, while Mark DeRosa knocked out two homers of his own in the Cubs 9-2 clubbing of the Giants.

Ken Griffey, Jr.'s 603rd career homer couldn't have come at a better time for the Reds, driving in the winning run to give Cincinnati a 4-3 win over the Pirates.

Josh Willingham may have just got his stroke back hitting a game winning homerun in the Marlins' 6-5 defeat of the Nationals. Even worse for the Nats, they found out they'll be without closer Chad Cordero for the rest of the season with a torn right labrum.

More All-Star fetivities news, Bon Jovi will play a free concert in Central Park on July 12th.

Nascar Update:
Click here to find out who is on the entry list for Daytona here.

Reports have DEI officially announcing that Aric Almirola will take over the #8 ride full time in 2009 on Tuesday. Hendrick Motorsports will announce a part time alliance with Mark Martin at Daytona this weekend.

What lead to Casey Mear's departure from Hendrick? Performance, duh! Because apparently he's a very nice guy.

Randy Moss' #81 Truck team will debut at Kentucky on July 19th.

Popo in my crib News:
New England Patriots back-up defensive back Willie Andrews was arrested for allegedly pointing a handgun at his girlfriend and is currently being held without bail. His current incarcerated status shouldn't seem unfamiliar since he was arrested in February on charges that he had possesion of marijuana with the intent to sell. A charge he has plead not guilty to. What do expect from a gun who drafted in the final round, boy's got to make money somehow. Watch out Willie, because the popo are on your tail.

News&Notes: LeBron James has added some fuel to rumors that he's heading to New York in 2010. Of course, he's not really looking to go to the Knicks, he's more into going to Brooklyn. Although that would mean that the Nets would be playing Brooklyn in 2010 and so far, they have been having some troubles getting that arena off the ground, literally...Speaking of the Nets, they introduced their newest members...Baron Davis and Elton Brand have opted out of their contracts...July 1st at noon marks the first day of open free agency in the NHL. But a couple of teams have already made some moves, like the Tampa Bay Lightning who locked up former Penguin Ryan Malone to a seven year, $35 million deal...Click here to see who the available free agents are...Indiana University president says hiring Kelvin Sampson was a mistake. Hindsight, huh?

Check this out: ABC Family is unleasing "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" tonight at 8 Pm/est. Tune in if only because you love Molly Ringwald, or that there's pretty much nothing else on TV. Click here for an interview with Ms. Ringwald herself.
