Avery Does Dallas

Sean Avery has quickly become one of my favorite people to report on, between the internships and the stick moves; it’s like Christmas everyday, which is why I’m a little disappointed to report that Avery’s packing up his stick and heading south to Dallas for the next four years. Fine the Rangers were only offering him $12 million over the next four years, while Dallas gave him $15.5 million, but come on, it’s Dallas. I guess he’ll be spending all of his time at the Neiman Marcus flagship store. And maybe Tony Romo can hook him up with one of Jessica Simpson’s buddies. Let’s just hope she knows the difference between chicken and tuna.

In other hockey news, Marian Hossa has signed a one year deal with the Detroit Red Wings in the neighborhood of $7.45 million. Goodness, I wish I was living in that neighborhood. The Penguins had really hoped to re-sign him, but instead they got to keep a 21 year old phenom in Evgeni Malkin. Tough times, huh.

Oh and Avery's BFF Marty Brodeur got married sometime last week. Let's just hope his new bride has really ugly sisters. Or maybe just brothers. (Sorry, too easy!)

It’s been fun blogging with you,
