well done better than well said

Football Update:
The Redskins kept their playoff hopes alive with a 24-16 win over the Chicago Bears on Thursday. Redskins QB Jason Campbell went out early with a dislocated knee cap and will probably be out for the remainder of the season. Luckily for the Skins, they were able to get a stellar performance out of back up Todd Collins, going 15 for 20 for 224 yards.

The Bears not only lost the game on Thursday, but they lost Rexy Grossman with an injured knee in the first quarter. They also lost defensive tackle Antonio Garay in the second quarter with an ankle injury.

Here's something NFL players should learn, you can threaten to kick a team's ass, but you cannot threaten to kick a QB's ass. This comes after Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman was strongly warned by the NFL for his comments regarding Detroit Lions QB Jon Kitna. I would think completely embarressing himi on the field would be enough of a payback for Kitna's comments last season.

The Falcons' are trying something new this week, they'll put Chris Redman in as the starting QB.

Troy Polamalu's comeback tour hit a bump after missing practice on Thursday.

Reggie Bush knows he's not doing well, but he vows to fix it. Is that enough for you? Because it's really not enough for me.

Baseball Update:
Jose Guillen and Jay Gibbons were suspended 15 games for violating baseball's drug policy. The two players were found to have used HGH after the 2005 ban by MLB. Gary Matthews, Jr., Rick Ankiel, Troy Glaus and Scott Schoeneweis did not recieve any penalties even though they were mentioned in the same indictement as Guillen and Gibbons. MLB said they did not have enough evidence to suspend those players.

The Nationals have locked up infielder Aaron Boone with a 1 year, $1 million contract and avoided arbitration with outfielders Wily Mo Pena and former Brave Ryan Langerhans.

Even after the maylay that tore his knee to shreds, the San Diego Padres are interested in re-signing Milton Bradley. Desperate times?

The Tampa Bay Rays picked Tim Lahey with the first pick of the Rule 5 draft and promptly sold him to the Chicago Cubs. Of the 18 players chosen in the draft, 14 were pitchers and three of them were from Minnesota. I guess there banking on some good prospects from that on going Santana saga.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have released former 2B starter Jose Castillo after picking up Evan Meek in the Rule 5 Draft.

Lincecum-Rois trade may be dead in the water, after the Giants decided they'd like to try to hold onto the pint-sized pitcher.

Entering the rumor mill: Yankees Hideki Matsui

News flash: Barry Bonds still wants to play baseball in 2008, but the seaon may interfer with his whole federal trial.

Joe Torre had knee surgery. [Insert old person's joke here.]

Jose Reyes is the new face of MLB2k8

Popo in my crib News:
Pacman Jones' legal troubles have begun to resolve themselves after the Tennessee Titan plead no contest to a charge of conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct in connection with a strip club shooting during the NBA All-Star weekend in February. Pacman is expected to get probation in return for tattling on his gun slinging buddy. Jones was facing up to six years in prison on two counts of coercion, but pleaded down. Watch out Pacman, because the popo are on your tail!

A new report said at least one of the suspects being charged in the killing of Redskin Sean Taylor was involved in the earlier break-in that took place eight days before the shooting. Watch out murderer, because the popo are on your tail!

Two Texas A&M players, charged in an armed robery, were suspended indefinately by the team. Yemi Babalola and Brandon Joiner allegedly entered an apartment and were armed with a semiautomatic pistol. Babalola was charged with two aggravated robbery counts and one count of misdemeanor marijuana possession and Joiner was booked on three drug possession counts. Watch out Yemi and Brandon, because the popo are on your tail!
