keeping hope alive

Football Update:
The Steelers kept their playoff hopes alive with a 41-24 win over the Rams. The once playoff locks have suffered a minor slide which has included losses to the Patroits and Jaguars. The game did prove costly for Pittsburgh when leading rusher Willie Parker went down with a broken leg.

The NFL has upheld the year long ban on Pacman Jones.

Eagles head coach Andy Reid discussed his sons law issues with a Philadelphia Magazine.

Mike Ditka will finish dispursing funds from his now defunct trust for needy former NFL players.

It's a must win situation for the Giants as they head to Buffalo without its offesnive heart, Jeremy Shockey, on Sunday. With a win on Sunday, the Giants would clinch a playoff birth. Otherwise they would be forced to derail the undefeated Patriots on December 30th at home, a place which has proven to be anything but friendly for Big Blue.

Baseball Update:
Affidavits by both Jason Grimsley and Kirk Rodomski have been unsealed. Neither Andy Pettitte or Roger Clemens names appeared.

In other performance-enhancing drugs news, the Senate will not subponea players to testify in their circus of congressional hearing in January. I'm confused, if you're not going to get players involved why are paying for this waste of time? Why not just build another useless bridge in Alaska, at least three people can benefit from that.

The Tigers have extended Dontrelle Willis' contract by three years. He'll recieve an additional $29 million for his troubles.

Chad Durbin was added to the Phillies roster signing a one year, $900,000 contract.

The Brewers and Gabe Kapler came to a one year, $800,000 agreement.

Derek Jeter may never stand up Alex Rodriguez, but he is standing behind friend and teammate Andy Pettitte praising him for his HGH admission.

Popo in my crib News:
Three people including two women were charged in connection with a robbery of three North Carolina football players. Monique Jenice Taylor, Tnika Monta Washington and Michael Troy Lewis are facing three counts of kidnapping, conspiracy to commit a felony and one count of resisting arrest. Watcho ut Monique, Tnika and Michael, because the popo are on your tail!

Trevor Berbick's nephew was convicted of killing the former heavyweight champion on Thursday. Harold Berbick and his accomplice Kenton Gordon were convicted of manslaughter following a four week trial. The pair will be sentenced on January 11th. Watch out Harold and Kenton, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: Pittsburgh toppled Duke in an overtime buzzer beating 65-64 win at the Garden to stay undefeated...Utah ushered in Bowl season with a 35-32 win over Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl...Denver's 112-111 win over the Rockets came down to a double overtime buzzer beater. Take that Pitt!...In other OT news, the Nets rallied to a 107-103 win over the depleted Heat...They couldn't beat the Knicks, but the Cavs pulled out a 94-90 win over Kobe and the Lakers...The Rangers learned something new on Thursday, when someone scores 5 goals, you're probably going to lose during their 6-3 loss to the Wild.
