Football Update:

The New Orleans Saints followed with the NFL weekend theme of blow outs with their 34-14 win over the beleaguered Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. Drew Brees had a banner night with 328 passing yards and three touchdown passes in the win while sophmore running back Reggie Bush watched from the sidelines with a knee injury.

In other Saints news, the PCL tear that has affected Reggie Bush since early November may prove to be a season ender, but will not require surgery for the so-far underachieving Bush.

The Bears have a new quarterback joining teams like the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons on the three QB year with the addition of Kyle Orton's as their starting QB on Sunday.

QB Round Up: Bucs coach John Gruden is saying that QB Jeff Garcia is ready to play this weekend...49ers QB Alex Smith will undergo surgery and miss the remainder of the season.

The Chargers are claiming that the Titans targeted Shawne Merriman.

Even with a 3-10 record, St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan still has job security. How can you fire him, at least they've won a game, Miami!

The Pats are a 27 point favorite over the Jets.

In other Patriots news, Steelers Anthony Smith is still running his mouth telling reporters the Steelers will see the Pats in the playoffs. Because nothings quite as embarrassing as getting your ass kicked during the playoffs!

Sad news, an unidentified fan fell to his death during the 49ers game at Monster Park in San Francisco. The man supposedly tried to sit on the top of a wall but misjudged the height and fell from the upper concourse to the mezzanine level. He reportedly died at the scene.

Baseball Update:
With the Mitchell Report's release iminent, former first baseman David Sequi admitted he used steriods and purchased them from Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski.

Japanese outfielder Kosuke Fukudome is coming to some team in America.

Paul Lo Duca is heading to the Washington Nationals for at least a year. Only four short hours away from BFF David, but I don't think that had anything to do with his decision.

The Brewers are paying $10 million for Eric Gagne for one year of his services. Yeah, they aren't over paying for him at ALL!

The Players' Association has filed a grievance to overturn Jose Guillen's 15-day suspension for violating baseball's drug policy.

Congratulations to Josh Beckett of winning MLB.com's This Year in Baseball Starter of the Year Award.

Uh,oh...Aaron Rowand is selling his Philadelphia area home. The 6,750 square foot home was put on the market for $985,000 12 days ago. Gee, I know the market is bad, but how cheap is Garnet Valley? (thanks Mr. Bennett)

Popo in my crib News:
Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months for his involvement in a dog fighting ring. Vick has already served one month, but will have to serve at least 85% of his sentence which would get him out at the earliest in the winter of 2009. Watch out Mike, because the popo are on your tail!

Broncos punter Todd Suerbrun was cited for simple assualt on Saturday, after an agrument with an unidentified cabbie escalated to physical violence. Little has been released about the assualt but Suerbrun was already on thin ice after a suspension last season by the NFL for use of a banned dietary supplement and for his multiple on and off the field incidents during his time in Carolina. Watch out Todd, because the popo are on your tail!

Hold on tight, Jimbo...The New Jersey Devils lost again, this time, 3-2 to the Washington Capitals...Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates has announced a two car lineup for the Rolex 24. It's been fun blogging with you,
