No Whammy, no whammy, no!

Football Update:
24 hours later and it turns out Bill Parcells will not be joining the Atlanta Falcons. He will, however, be going to Miami, becoming the VP of football operations.

The Dallas Cowboys will be without Roy Williams after his appeal was rejected by the League. But they will have QB Tony Romo after injuring his thumb and pride during Sunday's loss to the Eagles.

In other QB news, the Ravens may start rookie Troy Smith on Sunday...Kellen Clemens will start for the Jets this weekend, you know, if he's healthy...Kurt Warner thinks his performance this season for the Arizona Cardinals merits a chance at the starting job in 2008. I know Matt Leinart may not be what you thought he was, but at least he's younger than Tom Glavine.

Reggie Bush practiced on Wednesday despite a torn ligament in his left knee, but his status for Sunday's game remains up in the air.

Steelers safety Anthony Smith was quite talkative leading up to Pittsburgh's loss to the Patriots, but now it seems Smith will have to shout his opinions from the bench as he was demoted by the team.

The St. Louis Rams will retire Marshall Faulk's number 28 during halftime of the Rams' Thursday game against the Steelers. It's like the NFL network thinks of more reasons why you should be pissed off you can't watch the games.

Speaking of the NFL Network, the Senate is thinking of revoking the NFL's anti-trust exemption. Between baseball hearings and the NFL Network, it makes me think that everyday is vacation in Washington.

The Bills will have a special visitor during their final home game against the Giants on Sunday, Kevin Everett. Everett suffered a spinal cord injury during the September 9th game against the Denver Broncos.

Baseball Update:
The Phillies have reached a preliminary agreement with outfieler Geoff Jenkins. (Replacing one Geoff with another, huh?) According to a report, the Phills have offered Jenkins a two year, $13 million contract.

The Rockies have signed pitchers Kip Wells and Mark Redman to one deals.

In other Rockies news, looks like they're talking to former Atlanta Brave Marcus Giles about playing 2B. Kaz Matsui left Colorado for Houston earlier this off season.

Michael Barrett and the San Diego Padres have reached an agreement on a one year, $3.5 million contract for 2008.

Curt Schilling's newest blog post says that if Roger Clemens is guilty of filling himself up with various performance enhancing drugs, then he should give up his four Cy Young Awards received after 1997. For the full post click here.

Even though the Mitchell Report recommended no punishment for the names included, Commissioner Bud Selig is still looking to go after them. But, he may run into some problems because the evidence in the report are less than rock solid.

It's rare when a story about Alex Rodriguez leaves me jokeless, but here's one. Alex is giving back to his Miami community with a $1.5 million Alex Rodriguez Education Center which will support the Boys & Girls club he attended as a kid.

Braves Update:
Looks like the Braves will be needing another bullpen arm after reports surfaced that Ron Mahay will be going to the Royals with a two year, $8 million deal.

Popo in my crib News:
The four suspects accused of killing and robbing NFL player Sean Taylor have plead not guilty of all charges. Eric Rivera, Jr., Charles Wardlow, Jason Mitchell and Venjah Hunte are currently being held without bond. Watch out Eric, Charles, Jason and Venjah, because the popo are on your tail!

Broncos punter Todd Sauerbrun gives you another reason to not get arrested and act like an ass to the popo, Broncos coach Mike Shanahan has admitted that Sauerbrun's off the field actions were a big reason why he's unemployed. Sauerbrun has been accused of assualting a taxi driver. Watch out Todd, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: The Celtics perfection at home was snapped when Detroit sweaked by with a 87-85 win...Houston got a double whammy on Wednesday, a 97-92 loss to the Magic and an injured Tracy McGrady...Memphis handed the Spurs a buzz beater 88-85 loss...They got called out by their coach and their fans, but the Knicks somehow used that negativity to produce a 108-90 win over the Cavs...Alonzo Mourning maybe out of comebacks after he tore the patellar tendon in his right knee during the Heats 117-111 loss to the Hawks...The Islanders Chris Simons received the longest suspension by the NHL, 30 games and the Isles lost to the Sabres 2-1...The Big Ten Conference will check out allegations that referee Stephen Pamon has "a history of bankruptcy, casino gambling, child abuse and...sexual harassment."...WVU is looking at Florida assistant coach Doc Holliday to fill its vacancy.
