Final weekend of the year

Football Update:
For all of you fans out there that were worried that you wouldn't be able to see the Giants try to dethrone the so-far undefeated New England Patriots on Saturday at 8:15 PM/est because you don't have the NFL network, don't worry, NBC and CBS will air the game for free. Let's go Big Blue!

Meanwhile, Tom Brady is apparently delusional after requesting the Giants rest their players to make this whole 16-0 thing easier. Sure Tom, we'll rest our if you rest yours.

Big Ben will probably sit Sunday's game out with an injured ankle after missing two days of practice.

Marvin Harrison practiced for the first time in ten games. Could he be ready to go for the playoffs?

Just in time for the Bear's off-season, Chicago has placed Nathan Vasher on IR.

The San Diego Chargers held auditions for a new kicker to replace Nate Kaeding who is nursing a bruised leg. I wonder if their auditions are as tough as the ones to become a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader?

The Dallas Cowboys have signed receiver Patrick Crayton to a four year deal worth up to $14 million.

The Cardinals want to keep lineback Karlos Dansby bad. How bad? If they can't re-sign him, they'll stamp franchise all over him to keep him in Arizona.

Warwick Dunn doesn't want to go out with the taste of the Falcon's 2007 diaster in his mouth. Instead, he'll likely play again in 2008.

Packers linebacker Nick Barnett will not file a formal grievance but that doesn't mean he's opposed to getting an apology from the NFL.

Warren Sapp was fined $75,000 by the NFL after Sunday's outburst directed at a game official which led to his ejection.

Bill Parcells had his first day on the job as an executive for the Miami Dolphins.

Baseball Update:
Roger Clemens is on a mission to clear his name. So much so, he has apparently hired a PI to "challenge the credibility of Brian McNamee."

The Yankees have asked second baseman Robinson Cano to stop playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic reportedly so he can fully heal his calf injury.

In other Yankees news, they have finalized a 1 year, $3.75 million contract with LaTroy Hawkins.

The White Sox signed cuban slugger Alexei Ramirez. I thought we couldn't buy things from Cuba.

The Kansas City Royals signed former Marlins catcher Miguel Olivo to a one year contract.

Meanwhile, the Marlins signed infielder Jose Castillo on Monday.

The Phillies are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to sign another outfielder, this time So Taguchi to a one year deal.

In other outfield signing news, the Astros picked up Darin Erstad with a one year contract worth at least $1 million.

Mark Prior is looking to start his career over after signing a one year, $1 million deal with the San Diego Padres. He can earn as much as $3 million with incentive clauses.

The Reds traded feel good story Josh Hamilton to the Rangers for pitchers Edinson Volquez and Danny Herrera.

Suprise, suprise the Yankees and Red Sox were hit hard with luxury taxes this year. The Yankees will pay $23.88 million for a team that got swept in the first round of the playoffs while the World Champion Red Sox have to pay $6.06 million.
