Hello Western Canada, it's nice to meet you

Football Update:
Watch out Patriots, the Steelers may have your number and it will ruin you entire run for that perfect season, so says Anthony Smith. Although these declarations really just end up pissing off the other team and turning your chances from slim to none!

QB report: Brett Farve is sore but is expected continue his consecutive games streak on Sunday...The A.J. Feely era in Philly may have come to a close. Donovan McNabb worked out with the team on Wednesday.

Travis Henry may have gotten out of a suspension, but Vikings Ray Edwards was not so lucky. He has been suspended for four games after violating the League's steriod abuse policy.

Jaguars defensive tackle Marcus Stroud returned to the team on Wednesday after serving a four game suspension for violating the League's substance abuse policy. He has repented and admitted his mistakes, but has he found God?

Sean Taylor, who was murdered over a week ago, is leading Pro Bowl balloting.

The NFL's dreams of returning to LA are drying up after land that was set aside as the site of a future team is being sold to a developer and will house shops and office buildings. If the NFL wanted a team in LA they should not have approved the Raiders move to Oakland. I'm just saying...

Baseball Update:
Andruw Jones must be shouting "I Love LA" after signing a two year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers that will net him more than $18 million a season. It's not the long term, $20 million deal his agent Scott Boras was touting but it's a good deal for player that gave the Braves 12 great seasons. Good luck in LA, Andruw!

Santana watch, day 342...Yankees out, Red Sox cooling, Mets in?

Other names swept up in the rumor mill, the O's Erik Bedard and Brian Roberts.

The Tigers were not down making deals after acquiring Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera. They also traded first baseman Chris Shelton to the Rangers for outfielder Freddy Guzman.

The Marlins blockbuster trade was both economic and leaving them with a lot of holes. You think?

Daivd Riske and the Milwaukee Brewers have settled on a three year, $13 million deal.

The Rockies are close to locking up Aaron Cook for 3 years and $30 million.

Tony LaRussa is not too happy with Scott Rolen. The manager of the Cardinals wants Rolen back with the team in 2008 but only if Rolen wants to come back. But like he doesn't want to tell Rolen that he wants him to come back, because he wants him to want to do it on his own, you know? Yeah, it always makes more sense when LC says it on The Hills.

In other Cardinals news, So Taguchi has been released and he is soooooooooo upset, I'm sure!

Baseball players who win the MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year Award will not longer receive bonuses from the Baseball Writers of America. Instead they'll just have to settle with winning the Award for the shear honor of being named the best in the league. Too bad boys.

News & Notes: Jason Kidd may have told the Nets he had a migrane, but reports say he is really trying to get the Nets to either trade him or give him an extension...To add salt to the wounds, the Nets gave the Knicks their first road win, 100-93...Allen Iverson's 51 points were not enough to give the Nuggets the win. They fell 111-107 to the Lakers...The Heisman Trophy finalists have been named and Florida's Tim Tebow, Arkansas' Darren McFadden, Hawaii's Colt Brennan and Missouri's Chase Daniel will have to wait until Saturday to find out who the winner is...Offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher has been chosen as the successor of Bobby Bowden at Florida State, whenever Bowden decides to step down. No pressure Bobby, really no pressure...Scott Niedermayer will come out of his brief retirement to help the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks are also praying Teemu Selanne will do the same...Meanwhile, Sidney Crosby's western Canada tour got off to a good start with the Penguins' 4-2 win over Edmonton...Former Vancouver Canucks' coach Marc Crawford is being accused of telling Todd Bertuzzi to go after Steve Moore in 2004. The attack resulted in a broken neck and a concussion for Moore who has since filed suit against Bertuzzi, the Canucks and their parent company...Johnny Sauter will be racing the 1 car in the Busch Series for Phoenix Racing in 2008 after racing for Haas CNC in the Cup Series in 2007...Spears Motorsports will not return to the Truck Series...Carl Edwards will not be intimitaded by the media to become some cookie cutter driver that has no personality. No Kurt Busch, Edwards is not going to reform.

Check this out: It's the third night of Hanukkah and the NBA wants to wish its Jewish fans well. (via Hot Clicks)

It's been fun blogging with you,
