How about that arm?

Braves Update:
The Braves scored two runs off the first three batters in their game against the Phillies on Sunday but were unable to register another run until the seventh inning. Jeff Francoeur tried to single handly keep the Braves ahead with two amazing outfield assists that stopped the tying run from scoring but Ryan Howard put the game out of reach with a three run blast in the fifth inning off of Buddy Carlyle in the Braves 5-3 loss. The Braves head home before opening up their series against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.

Games behind NY Mets in NL East: 3.5
Games above .500: 6
NL Wild Card Leader: San Diego Padres

Braves Notes: After two months the Braves and Jason Heyward, the Braves first round pick in the 2007 draft, have reached an agreement. Heyward received a reported signing bonus of around $1.7 million. Heyward will report to the gulf coast league to play for the Braves affiliate.

NASCAR Update:

Watkins Glen produced one of the more exciting races for the Nextel Cup series this weekend epecially with only 18 laps to go, Martin Truex, Jr. bumped into Juan Pablo Montoya who in turn hit Kevin Harvick. When the cars had come to a rest on the track, the drivers were just getting started. Harvick and Montoya voiced their opinions in full view of the cameras and will most likely recieve a fine of some sort for actions detrimental to NASCAR. (When really, they have only added to NASCAR's amazingness) With two laps to go and Tony Stewart in hot pursuit, Jeff Gordon spun on going into turn number one, the same spot where Stewart had spun earlier in the race. Tony was able to safely get around Gordon to take the lead. Carl Edwards stayed right on the #20s bumper until sailing into the sand trap allowing Tony to take his third checkers in just four races.
