Watch the Wall



Baseball: Ozzie Guillen ranted after the White Sox lost game one of a doubleheader with the Tigers, 5-4...But then Chicago bounced back with a 6-1 victory...The Braves outlasted the Pirates, 7-6 in 15 innings to give Manager Bobby Cox his 2,000th career victory...The Rangers had a very mixed day. They extended Manager Ron Washington's option to 2010, then found out that Josh Hamilton will only miss 4-to-6 weeks after undergoing surgery, and then they lost to the Blue Jays, 6-3...The Yankees smacked four homers as they topped the Rays, 5-3...Marlins rookie Sean West out dueled 300 game winner Randy Johnson as the Marlins blanked the Giants, 4-0...In other Marlins news, they will break ground on their new stadium on July 18th...Rockies ace Jason Marquis got his eighth win of the season, besting the Cardinals, 5-2...Cardinals shortstop Khalil Greene will begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis and could be back with the big club by Sunday...The A's remained hot, notching their seventh straight victory after downing the Twins, 4-3...The MLB draft is today and all anyone is talking about is whether Stephen Strasburg will get $50 million?!?!?!?...Well wishes go out to Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster's infant daughter Riley who is suffering from a rare disease called DiGeorge syndrome...Things are not getting any better for Barry Bonds. His wife of over 10 years Liz Watson has filed for separation.

Basketball: Ratings for Game 2 are lagging behind last year's NBA Finals...Steve Nash will report on the NBA Finals for David Letterman. Ok I may need to DVR this...Get well wishes go out to Spurs forward Fabricio Oberto after he had a heart procedure.

Football: The Vikings have set a date for Brett Favre. I was hoping it involved dinner and a movie, maybe some flowers and a kiss on the check, but alas I believe this is related to Favre's comeback...The 49ers are not interested in Michael Vick. Ok...Saints CB Dan Morgan has retired...AGAIN...Former and current NFL coaches will visit troops stationed in the Persian Gulf this summer.

Hockey: By the end of tonight's game, we could have a repeat Stanley Cup Champion or a Game 7.

Nascar: Kyle Busch upset some fans with his guitar moves following his victory at Nashville this weekend. This kid is on quite a roll heading straight to number one enemy territory. And if Nascar is smart, they'll play this up. Everyone needs heroes and villians...Defending Truck Series Champion Johnny Benson's truck team was forced to fold due to lack of sponsorship...Another sign of the times, Petty was forced to layoff employees due to an expected lessening of support from Dodge.

Best of the Rest: Lane Kiffin may have jumped on the $2.6 million home too fast, looks like the NCAA is investigating whether Tennessee committed any recruiting voliations...Real Madrid won the Kaka sweepstakes for a record $92 million. What a horrible nickname.
