Walkoff Wonder



Baseball: Joe Torre tied Sparky Anderson for fifth in all time managerial wins after the Dodgers edged the A's, 5-4...Speaking of tying, Pudge Rodriguez tied Carlton Fisk for the most games played by a catcher in the Astros 6-1 loss to the Rangers...In a sign of the times, the Rangers layed off several members of their front office...The BoSox drowned the Fish, 8-2...John Smoltz is scheduled to make his Red Sox debut on June 25th...Meanwhile the Yankees rallied in the seventh for a 5-3 victory over the Nationals...After watching last night's game in person, I'd say that Manny Acta may want to get that resume ready even if he says he's not worried...The Rays bashed five homeruns and the Rockies, 12-4. The win ended Colorado's win streak at 11...And to round out the AL East, the Orioles fell to the Mets, 6-4...What's bothering Johan Santana, well according to the ace it's not his knee, it's his location stupid!...Albert Pujols hit his 23rd homer of the season while the Cards pummeled the Tigers, 11-2...The Tigers will sit Dontrelle Willis...Former Major Leaguer Mel Hall was convicted of sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl. Watch out Mel, because the popo are on your tail!...Sammy Sosa is one of the 104 names who tested positive during MLB's 2003 random drug testing. Gee, what a surprise!

Basketball: Oh Twitter, you are filled with such knowledge. Like knowing that Kevin McHale is out before anyone else. How do you do that?...The Magic are willing to pay a luxury tax to keep Hedo Turkoglu...LeBron James doesn't even need to win a championship to get a trip to the White House. Who do you think you are, Elvis literally dropping in on Nixon?...Because the California economy is spiralling out of control, donors will pick up the tab for the Lakers vicotry parade...Speaking of the Finals, the ratings were down 10% from a year ago.


Football: Donte Stallworth will only spend 30 days in jail after killing someone with his car. The family of the victim said they wanted the situation to be over quickly so they could move on. They also got an undisclosed cash settlement...Judging by his blog, I am guessing disgruntled reciver Brandon Marshall is getting the heck out of Denver.

Hockey: Former teammate Marion Hossa doesn't think Sindey Crosby snubbed the Red Wings. Well thank goodness, can we move on from this story now?...At his request, the Senators will try to trade Dany Heatley...Jim Balsillie may have been denied by a judge, but he's not giving up his fight to buy the Coyotes.

Nascar: Good news, Johnny Benson has been released from the hospital three days after being involved in a fiery crash...We'll have to wait until at least October for those Danica Patrick jumping to Nascar rumors to be over.

Best of the Rest: Rafael Nadal and Dinara Safina will be seeded No. 1 for Wimledon...With the US Open in town, Tiger which is the most difficult course in your opinion?
