Parading Down Main Street



Baseball: Prince Fielder hit a grand slam that pushed the Brewers past the Indians, 14-12. Wow watch a pitching duel...The Indians celebrated the 20 year anniversary of the movie Major League...Good news for the Tribe, Grady Sizemore could start playing in 7 to 10 days...The Giants could not overcome the Angels 7 run fourth in their 9-7 defeat...Meanwhile LAA's Ervin Santana will miss one start with a strained muscle in his forearm...And Kelvim Escobar is hitting the DL with a shoulder injury...The Rays' Jason Isringhausen will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery...Fresh off a Sports Illustrated cover, Nevada High School phenom Bryce Harper will leave school in hopes of entering the MLB draft earlier. While playing in MLB is an amazing opportunity, I think that at some point, you'll regret not finishing up high school with your peers...Sad news, former All-Star pitcher Hal Woodeshick has died at the age of 76.

Basketball: The Magic's Hedo Turkoglu will opt out of his contract, or so his agent Lon Bobby says...Bill Laimbeer has stepped down as head coach of the WNBA's Detroit Shock. He will be replaced by Assistant coach Rick Mahorn.

Football: Congratulations to one of favorite former Giants Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy. The pair have recently got engaged!...Brett Favre says he may come back. I am so bored with this story, that until there is a press conference announcing his return, I will no longer provide updates!...Broncos WR Brandon Marshall wants out of Denver, but I am not so sure the Broncos will trade him...Cardinals TE Ben Patrick has been suspended for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Patrick tested positive for Adderall...Browns WR Donte Stallworth will plead guilty to a DUI manslaughter charge in connection with his Miami car accident that killed a pedestrian. As a part of his plea, he will serve jail time. Watch out Donte, because the popo are on your tail!


Hockey: Brankruptcy Judge Redfield T. Baum has rejected a sale of the Phoenix Coyotes for now....The Wild have hired Todd Richards to be the team's head coach...The Bruins have extended GM Peter Chiarelli's contract...While the Hurricanes are bringing back Paul Maurice and his coaching staff...Not coming back after his contract expires is Senators President and CEO Roy Mlakar...Flyers defenseman Derian Hatcher will retire and move into the Flyers coaching staff as a player development coach...The Pittsburgh Penguins celebrated their Stanley Cup title with a parade on Monday...Game 7 was the highest watched Stanley Cup Final game in 36 years.

Nascar: A tire test at Indy showed promise for Goodyear...Sad news, Mexican Nascar driver Carlos Pardo was killed in a crash during the finals laps of a Nascar Mexico race. Due to league rules, the race reverted back to the final completed lap giving Pardo the victory.

Best of the Rest: Italy rallied for a 1-0 deficit at half time to beat the USA, 3-1.
