Rain, rain go away...seriously GO AWAY



Baseball: Pudge Rodriguez set a major league record for most games caught. Unfortunately that was the highlight of the night as the Astros fell to the Rangers, 5-4 in 10...Brad Penny got his 100th career win as the Red Sox flattened the Marlins, 6-1. It was the Red Sox 500th straight sellout at Fenway Park...Meanwhile, in his final rehab start John Smoltz allowed just one run in four innings for Triple-A Pawtucket...The White Sox prevailed in the battle of Chicago on Wednesday, 4-1...As the Cubs continue to struggle, changes may be up ahead. But do those changes include adding Pedro Martinez?...The Blue Jays bashed the Phillies, 7-1 on the same day they placed ace Roy Halladay and closer Scott Downs on the DL...Also hitting the DL is Erik Bedard, surprise, surprise. But what does his injury mean to his trade value? Isn't it like he's always injured?...In other Seattle news, they edged the Padres, 4-3...Orioles star prospect Matt Wieters got his first career homerun as the O's topped the Mets, 6-4...The Brewers completed their sweep of the Indians with J.J. Hardy's go ahead sac fly in the 11th inning...Good news for the Reds, their top hitter Joey Votto is schedule to start his rehab assignement with Single-A Sarasota...They also beat the Braves, 4-3. Pitcher Micah Owings had a homerun in the game...After it was revealed that Sammy Sosa tested positive for PEDs, congress is looking into his 2005 testimony. What do I always say? Oh that's right, don't mess with the United States government.

Basketball: The Lakers celebrated their 15th NBA title with a parade...Disgraced former NBA ref Tim Donaghy has been sent to a halfway house...Maybve Donaghy could give former NBA player Jerome "Pooh" Richardson some advise about jail.
