You have Been Suspended

Baseball: The Braves have traded four players including infielder Brent Lillibridge to the ChiSox for Javier Vasquez and Boone Logan...The Giants are still in hot pursuit of Edgar Renteria...And they are doing on-demand pricing for their tickets in 2009...The Dodgers and Twins are said to be leading contenders on the Casey Blake train...World Series shares were down...Sad news, Blue Jays owner Ted Rogers has died...In other tragic news, catcher Henry Blanco's brother Simon was kidnapped and murdered. He was just 39.

Basketball: Troy Murphy's tip in as the buzzer sounded completed the Pacers 118-117 rally over the Lakers...Manu Ginobili's return to the Spurs lineup was not enough as they fell to the Pistons, 89-77...The Blazers dominated the fourth quarter pulling out a 104-97 win over the Knicks...Tracy McGrady will miss three weeks while rehabing a sore knee.

College Basketball: Duke rolled by Purdue, 76-60...Notre Dame knocked down 19 3s on their way to 102-76 victory over South Dakota.

College Football: Charlie Weis will be a back with Notre Dame next season. I wish I got paid that well to be mediocre at my job...It is just me or is it weird that schools are announcing successors before the old coach calls it a career? I'm know there are reasons for Oregon to announce Chip Kelly as the next head coach whenever Mike Bellotti steps down, but it still feels kind of wrong.

Football: It's been an odd week for the Giants, between Plax shooting himself and Antonio Pierce's alleged involvement which may also include Ahmad Bradshaw, the fact that Steve Smith was robbed at gunpoint has been downplayed...Plaxico Burress's time in East Rutherford is up. The Giants have supsended the WR for the remainder of the season...Speaking of suspensions, the NFL has given six players including the Saints' Deuce McAllister and the Vikings' Kevin and Pat Williams a four game ban for violating the Leagues anti-doping policy...Adam Jones is back on the Cowboys 53 man roster...It's always nice to know that you're wanted. And Michael Vick, the United Football League wants you.



Hockey: Sean Avery was banned by the NHL just in time for him to miss the Stars 3-1 victory over the Flames...Mike Richards scored the game winner in OT as the Flyers edged the Lightning, 4-3...San Jose picked up its 21st victory of the season after bashing the Maple Leafs, 5-2...Speaking of the Sharks, they are set to invest in the San Jose Earthquakes of the MLS. The deal is worth between $2 and 3 million...Divers have found the body of Hubert "Pit" Martin, who drowned after the snowmobile he was riding fell into a lake near his home.
