there is no "i" in team but there is a me

Baseball: I think everyone would look at Rafael Furcal's disastrous negotiations and learn what not to do if you want more free agent bucks. Of course, that fact maybe lost on Mark Teixeira and maybe Manny Ramirez. Let's see, what do these two players have in common?...Oh and by the way Raffy and especially your agent Paul Kinzer, the Braves are pissed...The Tigers have signed former Marlins catcher Matt Treanor...Aaron Boone has signed with the Astros...The Brewers have signed outfielder Trot Nixon to a minor league deal..Click here if you have a question for Twins catcher Joe Mauer.

Basketball: Brandon Roy scored 52 as the Trail Blazers beat the Suns, 124-119...Elton Brand will miss a month with a dislocated shoulder...Dwight Howard had 14 points and 13 rebounds after missing two games with a sore knee and Jameer Nelson sank in 24 points as the Magic handled the Spurs, 90-78...Carlos Boozer, who was saying how he was planning on opting out of his contract, may want to hold off until he figures out what's up with his quadriceps tendon...Stephon Marbury paid $2,600 for the court side seats he used to watch the Knicks fall to the Lakers. That is like pocket change when you're making $21.9 million.

College Basketball: Congrats to Tyler Hansborough on becoming UNC's leading scoring with his 20 point effort during the Tar Heels 91-73 win over Evansville...Ole Miss's coach Adam Kennedy had a very interesting night...And followed it up with a loss as the Rebels fell to Cincinnati, 77-68. A difficult 24 hours indeed.

College Football: Miami QB Robert Marve will miss the Ermerald Bowl because of an academic violation. Apparently he was late for class because he was talking with a teacher. Something sounds very fishy about this whole thing.

Football: Peyton Manning completed 29 of 34 passes as he helped drive the Colts to a 31-24 victory over the Jaguars, ensuring themselves a spot in the playoffs...Speaking of the Manning clan, Eli Manning was named The Sporting News Pro Athlete of the Year....The Vikings are going with Tarvaris Jackson on Sunday.

Hockey: News Flash, Mats Sundin has made a decision, he's signing with the Canucks...Who is the best in the west? Well just going off of Thursday night's performance, I'd have to go with the Red Wings who whipped the Sharks, 6-0...David Krejci notched his first hat trick as the Bruins took out the Maple Leafs, 8-5...And for a team that has made headlines for all the wrong reasons, the Stars finally have something nice to talk about, like Loui Eriksson's first ever hat trick. And their 6-5 victory over the Blue Jackets...In his first game back, Marc Andre Fleury stopped 28 shots while Evgeni Malkin tallied four points as the Penguins defeated the Thrashers, 6-3.

Best of the Rest: Ok all of you boxing fans, get excited because the Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton match is almost a done deal...Mike "Mad Dog" Bell, a former wrestler who had been featured in a dcoumentary "Bigger, Stronger, Faster" has died at the age of 37...Nascar has settled a $225 million sexual harassment law suit...Citing the poor economy, Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix has been canceled.

Check this out: Congrats to Angie Harmon and her former Giant hubby Jason Sehorn on the birth of their third child Emery Hope Sehorn. I have to say, they have given their kids the best names (Finley Faith and Avery Grace). Not your normal run of the mill names, but not those over the top crazy out their celeb names like Pilot Inspektor and Audio Science. Click here for the details. Kind of a best of both worlds.
