Adios Amigos

Baseball: The Yankees scored another arm, A.J. Burnett...The Blue Jays signed Matt Clement to a one year, $1.5 million deal...The Angels have made an offer to Mark Teixeira...The Mets have gotten rid of Scott Schoenweis...And speaking of the Mets bullpen, newly signed K-Rod is saying the Mets are the team to beat. Just wait a few months until they fall apart down the stretch again, then you'll be singing a different tune...Josh Hamilton will likely decline an invitation to the WBC...Ichiro, Dice-K, Hiroki Kuroda, Akinori Iwamura and Takashi Saito were among the seven men named to Japan's WBC team.

Basketball: The 76ers fired Maurice Cheeks and then went out hurt an already struggling Wizards team, 104-89 in Tony DiLeo's first game as head coach...Kobe Bryant had 26 points as the Lakers outplayed the Timberwolves, 98-86....OJ Mayo knocked down 28 as the Heat burnt the Grizzles, 102-86...The Spurs hit six with their 109-104 beating of the Thunder.


College Basketball: For my mom, shout-outs to Arizona, who upset Gonzaga, 69-64...Wake Forest remains unbeaten after taking out Wright State, 66-53.

College Football: Congratulations to Sam Bradford on being named the Heisman Trophy winner...San Diego State is expected to name Brady Hoke its new head footabll coach.




Football: The Cowboys sacked Eli Manning 8 times on their way to a 20-8 victory...The Steelers edged the Ravens on a controversial late game call...The Lions remain winless...A fumble returned for a TD helped put the Jets past the Bills, 31-27...The Texans surprised the Titans with a 13-12 win...The Panthers finished 8-0 at home after decminating the Broncos, 30-10...For more scores from Sunday, click here.

Hockey: Well that was quick, the Sean Avery era in Dallas is over...Onto real hockey news, Cristobal Huet stopped 31 shots on the way to a Chicago 3-1 victory over the Blue Jackets. The Hawks have won 4 straight...Good news, the Sharks edged the Blues, 5-4...Bad news, Jeremy Roenick will be out at least three weeks with a shoulder injury...The Wild hit number five on their slide after falling to the the Ducks, 4-2...Coyotes forward Brian McGrattan has entered a substance abuse program.
