Week of weird injuries continue

Barely two days after the Chicago Bulls announced their rookie phenom Derrick Rose had injured himself in a freak bedroom knife incident, the Colorado Avalanche has learned they’ll be without the services of their Captain Joe Sakic after he broke three of his fingers in a snowblower accident. On Tuesday, Sakic underwent surgery to fix his injured digits.

"Joe's surgery was performed by a hand specialist," said Avalanche team doctor Andy Parker. "The procedure went well and he's expected to make a full recovery."

Sakic had already been out of the line-up with a herniated disc and had previously missed a game this season with an infected tooth. Not to sound snobby, but doesn’t he make enough money to have people take care of those kind of things?
