Well Done Mr. Stewart

On a night when Nascar came out to congratulate Jimmie Johnson on his third consecutive title and the remaining top 10 drivers on making the Chase (because the other two don’t exist), all I could think of is “Wow, Tony, I’ve never seen you looking so good” and “Jimmie Johnson, your hair continues to defy logic.” Here’s a run down of the Nascar Banquet.

Basic Black Tuxedos and ties were the standard

Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick and car owner Rick Hendrick all went for the basic black and all looked great.

Jeff Gordon could play hockey with that hair

Plus I think he stole the look from Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. Or maybe from the Suns’ Steve Nash, in which case he maybe could play basketball, of course he'd need like a good 8 more inches, but either way, the hair is not working for him.

The Legends still look great

Both Richard Petty and Cal Yarborough were snapped at the Awards Banquet. Richard Petty in what has become his signature style with the cowboy hat and Cale in a simple tuxedo.

The Ladies put their best dress forward

I normally choose not to discuss significant others, especially in these types of posts, however I will say that many of the Nascar wives, fiancées and girlfriends that came out looked spectacular.

Major downgrade to whoever invited Tom Cruise

Granted I still enjoy Matchbox 20 (especially Rob Thomas’ cameo on It’s Always Sunny) but admittedly, they were really big around my freshman year of college, so it’s been a while. Similarly, Tom Cruise’s star has flickered big time. This would have been cool say circa Mission Impossible (1 & 2) not so much circa Valkyrie. And Kevin Costner? Waterworld sunk his ship about 15 years ago.
