Baseball: Oh Cole Hamels, you've brightened my day!...Speaking of the Phillies, they have reportedly signed Raul Ibanez to a three year, $30 million deal. Poor Pat. At least he got his ring...Jake Peavy is not going to Chicago anytime soon. Unless he's planning a vacation...It's $10 million of bust for Andy Pettitte if he wants to stay with the Yankees. I'll take it if won't...Speaking of forcing people out, Bernie Williams would like to play in the World Baseball Classic...The Red Sox unveiled new unis. Basketball: Cuttino Mobley announced his retirement due to a heart condition that apparently worsened...The Celtics reach lucky number 13 on their win streak in convincing fashion pummeling the Wizards, 122-88...Mehmet Okur scored 27 points, including 21 in the first half of the Jazz's 97-88 victory over the Trail Blazers...The Mavs edged the Bobcats, 95-90...Sad news Harlem Globetrotter Chris "Flash" Richardson died in his sleep. He was just 28.

College Football: Tim Tebow earned his second Maxwell Trophy while Sam Bradford received the Davey O'Brien Award during the college football awards held in Lake Buena Vista, FL...Will Muschamp will reportedly be named Auburn's new head coach...Bowling Green has made Tennessee offensive coordinator Dave Clawson their new head coach.

Football: The Bears kept their playoff hopes alive with their 27-24 OT victory over the Saints. New Orleans may want to start making their vacation plans for January...Although the Bears got some bad news, when a judge ruled that the Minnesota Vikings' Williams duo will play for the remainder of the season...It was only a matter of time before TO turned on his QB. Apparently he feels left out of the Romo-Whitten clique...Matt Cassell returned to Patriots practice after missing a few days to be home with his family following the death of his father...Kellen Winslow would like to stay with the Browns.



Hockey: The Lighning actually won!...The Islanders put on an incredible performance, allowing nine goals including two hat tricks to Penguins players that had never achieved that fete (Petr Sykora and Pascal Dupuis)...Speaking of hat tricks, Dustin Brown picked up his first in the Kings 6-2 rout of the Blues...The Flyers came back from a 5-1 deficit to beat the Hurricanes, 6-5 (SO)...I know you've all been waiting on this, the Stars will anounce their plans for Sean Avery on Sunday.
