The Rangers have fired head coach Tom Renney in the midst of a downward fall that has them hanging onto the final playoff spot in the East. Oh, but at least they beat the Islanders on Wednesday. The Rangers have not announced a replacement, but judging from a New York Daily News report, it won’t be assistant coach Perry Pern, since he also got the pink slip on Monday. Too bad Glen Sather and his ridiculous free agent signings couldn’t get the boot as well.
