Late Start

Baseball: Manny Ramirez has turned down a one year, $25 million offer from the Dodgers...The Mets have re-signed Oliver Perez for three years, $36 million. You do know you just signed Ollie for like $12 million a season right?...The Cubs were busy trading Rich Hill to the Orioles and Michael Wuertz to the A's...The Twins and Mariners continue to talk about a trade involving Jarrod Washburn...The Marlins think they'll have near capacity crowds when their new stadium opens. Maybe they should talk with the Nats...It may not be CitiField after all...Bud Selig makes way more money than I thought...Venezuela defeated the Dominican Republic 3-2 to take the first game of the Caribbean Series.

Basketball: Kobe Bryant had 61 points in the Lakers 126-117 victory over the Knicks...A double blow for the Hornets on Monday, their leader Chris Paul left early with an injury and they blew a 17 point lead in their 97-89 loss to the Trail Brazers...Magic gaurd Jameer Nelson dislocated his shoulder during in Orlando's 105-95 loss to the Mavs...The Seattle Storm have waived veteran guard Sheryl Swoopes to make room under the cap. Man, I remember when she had her own shoes.

College Basketball: #1 UCONN didn't let the recent #1 curse effect them as they rolled past Louisville, 68-51...Wisconsin-Green Bay knocked off #11 Butler, 75-66...Pat Summitt was denied her 1,000th win after Tennessee tumbled to Oklahoma, 80-70...Mississippi coach Adam Kennedy's arrest video has been released.
