Made for Television Movies

If real life was a lifetime movie, these would be their stories:
(taken from actual descriptions/titles of movies shown on Lifetime)

A Girl Like Me-The Gwen Arayo Story
Imagine feeling like you're trapped in the wrong body, that there's been some sort of mistake — that you're supposed to be a girl instead of a boy. How would you tell your family and friends that you wanted to change genders? Would you bring it up with someone you had a crush on? And what would you do when society not only refused to accept the new you, but was violent toward you? Well, Eddie Araujo didn't know the answers, but he did know he was supposed to be female, so he began to dress as a girl and changed his name to Gwen.

While a little bit of a stretch it reminds me of “From Backstop to Out Field Fence: The Rick Ankiel Story”
Rick Ankiel, was a pitching phenom in 2000 collecting 11 wins for the St. Louis Cardinals but in the post season of that year he fell a part. Rick always thought he would make a career out of pitching, but his inability to regain the command that got him noticed weighed heavily. Unwilling to give up, in 2005 Rick changed positions and upon Rick’s triumphant return to the majors, he hit one out of the park to prove to those haters that he was destined to be a baseball player, just not a pitcher.

Best Friends
This movie takes the expression "frenemy" to a whole new level! Beth is oblivious to the fact that someone in her inner circle is her worst nightmare in disguise. Her best friend, Claudia, is actually a psycho out to use all of Beth's secrets to terrorize her, steal her family and worse.

Seems like Same Girl:The Derek Jeter/Alex Rodriguez story
Derek Jeter came up as a flashy shortstop for the New York Yankees. Young and talented, Jeter bounced from girl to girl including Mariah Carey and Jordana Brewster. Meanwhile, across the country, Alex Rodriguez was enjoying some serious playing time in Seattle with the Mariners. The pair developed a solid friendship in the minors that seemed to disappear when Rodriguez made some comments about Derek in GQ calling him “a number two hitter.” Was this over Joy Enriquez, the girl the pair both dated? Or was it jealousy? The story takes an interesting turn when Rodriguez and his huge contract are traded from the Texas Rangers to the New York Yankees where Rodriguez must move to third or be forced to ride the bench. Alex gets upset when his new teammate refuses to stand up for him during a troubling 2006 season. Can the pair bury the hatchet to return the Yankees to championship form?

Reminds me of Fighting Back:The Jon Lester Story
Jon Lester had finally made it to the big leagues pitching for the Boston Red Sox in 2006 until what he thought was soreness in his back due to a car accident turned into something more, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. At just 22 years old and not content on letting cancer beat him, Lester had to battle for not just his dream but for his life. After six rounds of treatment, Lester was declared cancer-free and moved onto making his way back to the big show. After spending the early part of the 2007 season in the minors Jon was called up from AAA-Pawtucket to take the mound against the tough Cleveland Indians. With cameras, friends, family and fans watching, Lester delivered a flawless game propelling his Red Sox to a 6-2 victory.

Seems like A Brother’s Will: The J.J. Hardy Story
J.J. Hardy was a talented player who had excelled in baseball and was drafted right out of high school in 2001. Only three years later, the bottom dropped out after a serious shoulder injury sidelined him for the season. J.J. returned to his Arizona home where he attempted to cut himself off from society. But when his brother Logan, who had returned home after serving in Iraq, needed help dealing with his own problems, J.J. put aside his demons to assist his older brother. The two were able to use baseball, a sport they had both grown up playing as their Paxil to help push themselves out of their collective funk. The two spent days in the hot tub, talking, eating and catching up on simple things in life. Within a few years, J.J. had become a permanent staple in the Brewers organization and made the All-Star team. But he would never have been able to make it through without those days in Arizona with his older brother Logan.

Is that a take off of Four Lost Years: The Josh Hamilton Story?
Josh Hamilton was a promising young stud who was drafted number one overall by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 1999. After getting injured in a car accident, Hamilton’s family moved back to North Carolina, leaving the 20 year old alone for the first time to fend for himself in Florida. Hamilton took a steep slide down the path to hell, developing a taste for crack, a drug that would ravage his soul for the next four years. But during this time, between going from rehab to rehab, from heaven to hell, he met a young girl named Katie and fell in love. The pair married but his change wasn’t quick. Her love and support helped Josh leave the drugs once and for all and in the winter of 2006, Josh was picked up by the Cincinnati Reds in the rule 5 draft guaranteeing him a spot on a major league club and changing their lives forever.
It's been fun blogging with you,
