Braves Win!

Braves Update:
It had been five days since the Braves last win which came against the Marlins, but the Bravos celebrated the Labor Day with a 5-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies which moved them up to only 5.5 games behind in the Wild Card with 25 games to go in the season. Hey, stranger things have happened! Lance Cormier delievered 5 2/3 solid innings to pick up his second consecutive win and Brian McCann's double in the fourth inning proved to be the game winner, although the Braves tacked a run in the sixth and seventh. The Braves must continue to win to keep their post season hopes alive starting with Tuesday night's game against the Phillies at 7:35 PM/est on SS.

Games behind NY Mets in NL East: 7.5
Games above .500: 2
NL Wild Card Leader: Arizona Diamondbacks

Braves Notes: The Braves AAA-Richmond squad earned a wild card spot in the International League's playoffs and the AA-Mississippi Braves also earned a post season spot with their c0-win in the Southern Division...Read a great interview with Mark Teixeira here.

NASCAR Update:
Why are there two dates at California if they can't fill the seats? We totally should have kept that date at Rockingham.

Popo in my Crib News:
New York Knicks center Randolph Morris pleaded guilty to reckless driving on Friday stemming from an August 7th arrest in Lexington, KY. The popo spotted Morris going 62 in a 45 and not using his turn signal before they pulled him over. Watch out Randolph, because the popo are on your tail!

Two men were arrested after stealing a mannequin and the budweiser shorts that it was wearing. The popo discovered the mannequin without its head sitting in a park truck. Later they found the clothing inside the home. Jeremy Carothers, 22 and Josh Asheyon, 24 were charged with commerical burglary. There are much better ways to get free budweiser shorts, like going to a NASCAR race and walking around the merchandise trailers. My brother got a towel and free old spice deodorant the last time we went. Watch out Jeremy and Josh, because the popo are on your tail!

UPDATE: Two men wearing Los Angeles Dodgers baseball caps and red bandanas broke into the Houston Texans CB Dunta Robinson's home on Saturday. One of the perps bound a person inside the home, while another searched for the goods. Jewerly was reported missing, while the identities of the two men were not known. Watch out robbers, because the popo are on your tail!

UPDATE: In just cause for a divorce news, former Florida A&M basketball coach Mike Gillespie pleaded no contest to charges of stalking his former girlfriend on Tuesday. He was also ordered to stay away from his former flame after being arrested in May for his drive by stalking of the woman at her workplace. My friends and I totally used to stalk our crushes. We'd go out of our way to walk by his house and sprint if we saw any signs of life. Although that was when we were 13 and not old enough to have a license! Gillespie is married...for now. Watch out Mikey, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: Who thought Michael Straham would end his holdout before JaMarcus Russel?...Pedro Martinez picked up his 3,000th career strike out and a win in his first appearance of the season in the Mets 10-4 win over the Cinncinati Reds...Roger Clemens is scheduled for a MRI after a diasterous outting against the Seattle Mariners on Monday. The Mariners snapped their nine game losing streak with their 7-1 win...In that's worth a beer poured on your head news, Carlos Zambrano ripped Cubs fans after they booed him on Monday in the Cubbies 11-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Zambrano allowed eight runs in his fifth consecutive loss since signing a monterous five year $91.5 million contract...Coach Lloyd Carr says Michigan has a lot of changes to make after their 34-32 loss to Appalachian State on Saturday. Like addding Murray State to their calendar...And finally, Ms. Kelly Clarkson has announced her fall tour. Unfortunately, her dates in New York are sold out. But after seeing her at Live Earth, I can tell you, if you can get tickets, go and see her!

UPDATE: In Tiki Barber's new book, he says that Tom Coughlin took the "joy" out of playing football. He also neglected to mention he taught him how to carry a football properly. But if you're not pissed off that he bad mouthed the Giants' fans you can go out and buy his book when it hits stores in mid-September. He'll also be signing books at Bookends in Ridgewood on September 19th. But please, remember not to bring anything that is sharp or can be thrown. Let's not give the Wood a bad name!

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate

Thanks for not mentioning that I used the Old Spice. People, it was a necessity! It was hot out and I forgot my own!
