Call it Historic

Tom Glavine picked a pretty crappy time to revisit 1989 while his elderly counter part Jamie Moyer pulled through at the exact right time. The difference between the Mets historic collapse and the Phillies improbable entrance into the 2007 playoffs didn't just start on Sunday, it was a culmination of the entire season. A season which saw an over confident Mets team lose its heart while a hard working Phillies team never gave up, even after seeing a large portion of their pitching staff reach the DL. They were without Chase Utley for almost a month, it took 6 or 7 weeks for Ryan Howard to get on track and Pat Burrell 3 months to show up. But after Sunday, Jimmy Rollins quote seems perfect, The Phillies were the team to beat!

They don't need to strive, because the Phillies have made the playoffs. Congrats!

Don't forget to set your DVR because were going to extras kids. The Colorado Rockies will take on the San Diego Padres for the NL Wild Card spot at 7:37 PM/est on TBS.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
