Which is totally ok with Commissioner Bud Selig...And brought back Tony LaRussa for another year...Former Mariners catcher Kenji Johjima signed a four year deal with the Hanshin Tigers of Japan...Speaking of opting out, Tyler Yates is kissing Pittsburgh goodbye...The sale of the Cubs has been completed...Ratings for Sunday's game 6 of the ALCS actually topped that of the Giants/Cardinals football game...World Series news: Pedro Martinez will start game 2 for the Phillies...George Steinbrenner is coming to New York...Jay-Z and Alicia Keys will perform during Game 1.

Basketball: The NBA season officially begins tonight, but Blake Griffin won't be joining the fun for at least six weeks with a broken knee cap...The Bulls have exercised contract options for Derek Rose and Joakim Noah for the 2010-11 season...Charles Barkley wants to be a NBA GM. A reporters dream I am sure...The wife of Cavs star Delonte West has filed a domestic violence report against her husband. Kimberly West claims she and her husband had an argument "in which he grabbed her and took her wedding ring and purse." Watch out Delonte, because the popo are on your tail!
