Bring It On!

Baseball: It only took 12 innings to decide the AL Central winner, but when the dust had settled, the Twins wound up with the 6-5 victory over the Tigers...Miguel Cabrera is sorry for drinking himself silly on Friday night. Cabrera went 2-for-5 with a double and a HR in the Tigers loss on Tuesday...Fredi Gonzalez is coming back as Marlins manager in 2010...Also staying put are right-hander Freddy Garcia and left-hander Matt Thornton after the White Sox excerised their options...The owners have approved a sale of the Chicago Cubs to the Ricketts family...Sad news, the body of John Foster, an employee of Farmer Brothers coffee was found in a press box at Dodger Stadium. Hockey: The Twins weren't the only Minnesota team locked in a battle on Tuesday, the Wild rallied from a 3-0 deficit to stun the Ducks, 4-3 in OT...The Senators topped the Maple Leafs, 2-1 in Jonas Gustavsson's debut...Nikolai Khabibulin earned his 300th victory in the Oilers 5-4 SO win over the Stars...Mike Modano has a cracked rib...Danny Briere's overtime goal allowed the Flyers to edge the Capitals, 6-5 giving Philly a 3-0 start to the season...Also starting out the season undefeated are the Flames who nipped the Canadiens, 4-3...Montreal signed Marc-Andre Bergeron to a one year, $750,000 contract...The Bruins locked up Milan Lucic to a three year, $12.25 million deal.

Nascar: You'd think a little thing like purposely crashing into your teammate would prevent you from racing again, but that's not the case for Nelson Piquet, Jr...After a second inspection, Nascar has found nothing wrong with the Hendrick cars...Dodge is staying in Nascar...The fences will be raised at both Daytona and Talladega. That's probably a very good idea.

Best of the Rest: Juan Martin del Potro - fresh off a US Open title - was knocked out of the first round at the Japan Open...Over at the China Open, Maria Sharapova has been eliminated...The Sporting News has named Pittsburgh the best sports city. I am not too sure about that. They are the same city that hosts the Pirates, right?
