Well at least it's not for the entire season this time...Terry Porter picked up his first win as coach of the Suns as they rolled past the Spurs, 103-98...Speaking of winning in your coaching debut, the Knicks cooled the Heat, 120-115...Unfortunately for the Thunder, they could not pick up a victory in their first home game, falling to the Bucks, 98-87...The NBA has one-upped the NHL by reportedly deciding to make the new Dallas Cowboys stadium the home of the 2010 NBA All-Star game.

College Basketball: The rankings are out and North Carolina tops the charts.

College Football: Houston WR Patrick Edwards underwent surgery on his leg after he broke it running into a service cart.

Football: T.J. Houshmandzadeh guarantees the Bengals will not go 0-16. Way to be bold on that declaration...Former Raiders coach Lane Kiffin has filed a grievance with the NFL to claim lost salary...The Cowboys are sticking with Brad Johnson...The Detroit Lions liked what they saw out of Dante Culpepper...The NFL has fined but not suspended Pats defensive tackle Vince Wilfork for his hit on Denver QB Jay Cutler.




Hockey: With their 4-2 win, the Stars handed the Wild their first regulation loss of the season...Teemui Selanne netted his 21st career hat trick and Francois Beauchemin scored the game winner in the Ducks 5-4 (OT) victory over the Red Wings...The Leafs rallied from a 4-0 deficit to hand the Devils a 6-5 SO loss.
