why can't we be friends?: LCS 2008 Update

LCS Recap:
Tampa Bay Rays v. Boston Red Sox
Josh Beckett, who has added to his legend with stellar post season performances and young ace Scott Kazmir were supposed to set the stage for a thrilling game with their pitching excellence instead it was the long ball that got much of the accolades in the Rays, 9-8 victory. Both teams combined for seven dingers, the most ever in an ALCS game, but it was a B.J. Upton sac fly down the line that drove in Fernando Perez to allow the Rays to even up the series as the two teams head to Fenway.
WP: David Price (1-0) LP: Mike Timlin (0-1)
Rays and Red Sox are tied: 1-1

Philadelphia Phillies v. Los Angeles Dodgers
Jamie Moyer surrendered five runs in the first inning including a game winning three run bomb to rookie Blake DeWitt as the Dodgers pounded the Phils, 7-2. Moyer barely made it into the second inning giving up a solo homer to Rafael Furcal before being pulled. But the real action came in the third inning when Dodgers starter Hiroki Kuroda sailed a pitch over Phillies centerfield Shane Victorino's head which got the Flyin’ Hawaiian a little upset that he did not throw at the body. Victorino grounded out to end the inning and began yelling at Kuroda. The benches cleared, Manny Ramirez pretended like he would actually throw a punch, but alas none were thrown and the game continued.
WP: Hiroki Kuroda (1-0) LP: Jamie Moyer (0-1)
Phillies lead Series: 2-1

News&Notes: Both Phillies Manager Charlie Manuel and centerfield Shane Victorino received bad news on Friday when they learned that their mother and grandmother respective had passed away. Manuel's mother's funeral has been scheduled for Friday afternoon allowing him to avoid missing a sheduled game. My condolences go out to both families...I'm confused why hasn't Tiger Stadium been torn down? Maybe it's because of this last ditch effort...Does Jose Canseco want to be like that creepy guy on Oprah that was pregnant or something?...What a perfect time to announce ticket price increases, right in the midst of the Great Depression 2.0! Good call Kansas City.
