It's All Right cause I am Saved by the Bell


Baseball: Rookie Randy Wells kept the Reds in check while Mike Fontenot hit a three run homer in the Cubs 4-2 win. The victory moved Chicago into first place in the NL Central...Cincinnati's Edison Volquez underwent Tommy John surgery...The Dodgers scored three runs in the ninth, but Trevor Hoffman was able to get Manny Ramirez to sky out to right and maintain the Brewers 6-5 advantage...Rajai Davis got a pinch hit two run triple to cap the A's three run rally in the ninth and give them a 3-2 edge over the Rangers...Mark Reynolds had two homeruns in the first two innings of the D'Backs 6-5 victory over the Mets...There was some good news for the Mets, Billy Wagner pitched a perfect inning in his second rehab start while the Carloses did some minimal work at Citi Field...Clete Thomas hit a walk-off bomb that propelled the Tigers past the Orioles, 6-5...The Rays tackled the Royals, 10-4...Matt Cain's unbeaten streak was snapped at six after the Astros topped the Giants, 4-3...It wasn't all good news for Houston. Roy Oswalt may miss a start with back pain.

Basketball: The Cavs, Rockets and T'Wolves have all been fined for leaking their 2009-10 schedule...Tyler Hansbrough could miss up to two months with a right shin injury.

Football: The Panthers DT Maake Kemoeatu will miss a substantial amount of time after tearing his right Achilles tendon...The Eagles have lost middle linebacker Stewart Bradley for the season with a torn ACL...Philly signed WR Jeremy Maclin to a five year deal...The NFL has upheld a a three game suspension for Bills RB Marshawn Lynch...The Jets had a rocky start to training camp. Although if anyone was planning on switching over to MMA, it was a great practice.

Hockey: A bankruptcy judge has moved the local auction of the Phoenix Coyotes to September 10th...Nikolai Zherdev may very well have played his last game for the New York Rangers...Canucks forward Alex Burrows is under investigation for an altercation that took place in a summer hockey league game.


Nascar: Congrats to Denny Hamlin on his win on Monday.
