Dump and Run

Baseball: The Blue Jays literally gave Alex Rios away to the Chicago White Sox for free. The only catch, Chicago is on the hook for the remainder of his 7 year, $69.835 million contract...Meanwhile the Jays ended the Yankees win streak after Lyle Overbay broke up a four all tie in the fifth with a solo shot giving Toronto the 5-4 advantage...Also ending a streak were the Red Sox who finally got off the slide with a 6-5 win over the Tigers...Vladimir Guerrero hit two homeruns including his 400th as the Angels edged the Rays, 8-7...Troy Tulowitzki hit for "the cycle" as the Rockies pounded the Cubs, 11-5. That triple was a bit questionable, but I'll give it to you Tulo...The good news for Cubs fans is that an MRI did not reveal anything serious in Carlos Zambrano's back. Aramis Ramirez's shoulder, well, we'll have to see...The Dodgers doubled up the Giants, 4-2...LA All-Star pitcher Chad Billingsley will miss his next start on Wednesday with a strained left hamstring...Speaking of the Giants, click here to see the newest addition to the Tim Lincecum clan, a french bulldog named Cy...The Marlins out slugged the Astros, 8-6 to pull within 3.5 games of the Phillies...Philadelphia will send Pedro Martinez to the mound on Wednesday. To make room for Pedro, they will send Jamie Moyer to the bullpen...Three days after the birth of his first child, Mike Pelfrey was a little rusty, allowing five runs in the Mets 7-4 loss to the D'backs...The Diamondbacks have sent centerfielder Chris Young to Triple-A Reno...Sad news, Mickey Mantle's widow Merlyn has passed away at the age of 77. You're lucky you're not in JAIL!

Hockey: Cabbiegate aka the Kane Cousin incident (as I am now calling it) was blown out of proportion. That's what happens when things like this happen during the off season...The Hurricanes have sued Raleigh hip-hop artist Tyrone Banks (yeah I read Tyra Banks, too) for violating team trademarks. Banks claimed to have the "official song of the Hurricanes" but alas it was just the official tribute to a NHL team that plays in a state nestled between Virginia and South Carolina with Tennessee to the west.

Nascar: Congrats to Tony Stewart on winning his fifth career race at Watkins Glen...Click here for complete results...And here for updated standings...Jeff Goron injured his already ailing back during a multicar wreck...Meanwhile Dale Earnhardt, Jr's nightmare season continues. Junior lost his breaks and sailed into Reed Sorenson.

He will be replaced by Luca Badoer...The PGA has fined Tiger Woods for criticizing an official. "I'm sorry that John got in the way of a great battle." Yeah that's harsh criticism...Andy Roddick lost another heartbreaker on Sunday, falling to Juan Martin del Portro 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (6) at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic...Vanderbilt WR Terence Jeffers-Harris has been ruled academically ineligible...Sad news, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the founder of the Special Olympics, sister of President John F. Kennedy, Jr. and mother of Maria Shriver has passed away at the age of 88.
