New Giants and Jets Stadium plugging along

Giants and Jets owners sign final steel beam at the new stadium

A 40-foot steel beam adorned with a Giants and Jets flag on either side of an American flag was put in place on Tuesday, marking the final piece in the $1.6 billion stadium puzzle. The New Meadowlands Stadium as it is being called until it can attract a title sponsor will have 82,000 seats and feature wider concourses, more restrooms and about 2,000 video screens and individual monitors.

NMS is said to be about four months ahead of schedule, but still too far behind to be ready for a 2009 opening, which is good for those season ticket holders who are unable to afford the personal seat license being put in place for the new Stadium. So it’s 2010 or bust. I am so excited to see what the new Stadium is like, if I can get my hands on some Giants tickets that is!
