Nascar Truck Series owner Billy Ballew was arrested for drunken driving at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Wednesday night. Yes, at Atlanta Motor Speedway, not on his way to Atlanta Motor Speedway or in the general vicinity of Atlanta Motor Speedway, but on the property of Atlanta Motor Speedway. Ballew, whose #51 Truck was scheduled to be driven by Kyle Busch on Saturday in the American Commercial Lines 200, said he only had one drink before he was pulled over by cops."I am 100 percent sure that it will be dropped," Ballew told the paper. "It was only one drink. I was not drunk. I was on Atlanta Motor Speedway property. I was not on the highway."
We get it, you were on the property but that still doesn’t mean you should have a mixed drink in your car as you are driving around the friendly confines. An open Pabst Blue Ribbon or a Rolling Rock, fine, it works with the location, but a mixed drink? Did it have a pink umbrella in it too?
Ballew was booked on a DUI charge and later released on $1,506 bond. This just maybe the best action that happens all weekend.
