Baseball: Jim Bowden has re-signed from his post with the Nationals...Injury report: The Twins Joe Nathan has backed out of the WBC due to a sore shoulder...Johan Santana's scheduled MRI in New York has been cancelled and it was not due to the 10 inches of snow that has fallen upon the city...Josh Hamilton hurt his Achilles'...Eric Byrnes's hamstring has felt better...Adam Eaton was dropped by the Phillies and picked up by the Orioles all in one weekend...These Manny talks are ridiculous...This explains so much, so on Saturday morning as I am sitting in a virtual waiting room trying to purchase a few Brewers tickets for the upcoming season, I am thinking to myself, what the frick? I thought this would be so much easier. Turns out the team set a franchise record, selling 104,000 tickets in one day. And if you were hoping to grab some games against the Cubs, well you just might be out of luck.

Basketball: Jason Kidd became just the fourth player to reach 10,000 assists as the Mavs roughed up the T-Wolves, 109-98...Kobe Bryant may have had 49 points, but his old teammate Shaquille O'Neal's 33 were enough for the Suns to get the 118-111 victory...The Pistons won their second straight without Allen Iverson, topping the Celtics, 105-95...The Thunder has released forward Joe Smith...While the Kings have let go of Drew Gooden.

College Basketball: Louisville knocked off Marquette, 62-58...While Kansas routed Missouri, 90-65...Michigan State beat Illinois, 74-66 to pick up the Big Ten crown.

Football: Matt Cassel is heading to Kansas City...But the Broncos interest in bringing in Tom Brady's back-up QB has pissed off their actual QB Jay Cutler...Meanwhile Denver did land Brian Dawkins...And the Giants signed DE Chris Canty...Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall was arrested again, this time in Atlanta. Watch out Brandon, because the popo are on your tail!...Two NFL players Corey Smith and Marquis Cooper are among four people aboard a 21-foot vessel left that Clearwater Pass for a fishing trip and has not returned.


Hockey: Marty Brodeur earned his 100th career shut-out as the Devils blanked the Flyers, 3-0...Jarome Iginla may have broken the Flames' career scoring record with his two goals and three asssits, but in the end, the Lightning were able to get more pucks in the goal, beating Calgary, 8-6...The Panthers overpowered the Caps, 6-2...And then Alexander Ovechkin got a good laugh courtesy of Don Cherry...NHL scoring leader Evgeni Malkin added a goal and two assists as the Pens bested the Stars, 4-1...Speaking of Dallas, they'll be without center Steve Ott indefinitely after he was suspended by the NHL...And because it hasn't happened in a while, I wanted to point out that not only did the Rangers win on Saturday night, but they scored six freaking goals on their way to a 6-1 rout of the Avalanche. It was John Torterella's first win as their head coach.

Check this Out: If you are somewhere in the eastern portion of the US you maybe noticing the large quanities of snowing falling outside your window. The kind of snow that has cancelled school in the City of New York for the first time in five years. But if you're not, here's a little story to help understand my frustration with snow these days. I mean it's March. Where is my warmer weather?
