Baseball: Manny is officially staying in LA...Ivan Rodriguez is finding it hard to find a suitor because if its not the money it's the playing time he's demanding...Yankees skipper Joe Girardi said A-Rod has been suffering with hip problems since last season...Speaking of the third baseman, is he ever going to catch a break? He makes a few comment complimenting Jose Reyes and it's taken as a backhanded slap towards Johnny Damon. Was the news day that slow?...Johan Santana still wants to start opening day...James Shields will start opening day for the Rays...Mike Rizzo will take over control of the Washington Nationals for now...The Reds have invited President Barack Obama to attend the Civil Rights game on June 20th...As I realized this morning as I turned on my TV and saw baseball, the WBC has begun with Japan shuting down China, 4-0.



Basketball: With their 91-73 rout of the Bucks, Cleveland has clinched themselves a playoff spot...The Celtics also guaranteed their spot in the playoffs with a 115-111 victory over the Nets...The Jazz picked up their ninth striaght victory, 101-94, over the Rockets...In his first trip back to Miami since he was traded, Shaq ripped Stan Van Gundy and then the Suns came up on the wrong side of the 135-129 score...The Mavs took owner Mark Cuban's rant to heart, edging the Spurs, 107-102.

College Basketball: Pittsburgh rolled past Marquette, 90-75...Missouri upset Oklahoma, 73-64...As Kansas was violated by Texas Tech, 84-65.
