One's a couple, two's a crowd

Braves Update:
The Braves came into yesterday's game on a two game winning streak, but a shaky start by Kyle Davies and a four run sixth by the Cleveland Indians was enough to end that streak at two after the Braves fell 5-2 to the Tribe. The Braves look to bounce back against a Boston Red Sox team that swept the San Francisco Giants this weekend at Fenway. Action starts at 7:05 PM/est on ESPN.

Games behind NY Mets in NL East: 1 1/2
Games above .500: 4
NL Wild Card Leader: Arizona Diamondbacks

Braves Notes: Chipper Jones has gone 8 for 16 since coming off the disabled list on Wednesday, including a second inning single for his 2,000th career hit on Sunday afternoon!

Random Quote: "Getting 2,000 was certainly a goal. Now, I want to work on the next 1,000 hits. I don't know if I'll play long enough; we'll see." - Chipper Jones (source)

NASCAR Update:
Martin Truex, Jr. came thisclose to getting his second career win, but Carl Edwards was able to prevail for his first win in 52 races. More importantly, his motorcoach driver, Tom Giacchi gets to shave! (I guess the moral of the story is, don't make bets that you're not ready to face the consequences of.) Truex led early, but a two tire stop allowed Jimmie Johnson to breeze by him and an accident on lap 76 sent the 1 car to the back of the pack, but he was able to recover and even contend for the lead, but Edwards was too strong even overcoming his own pit road speeding penalty in his quest for the win. Shout outs to: Casey Mears on another solid top five finish and to Michael Waltrip on his first top ten of this season.

Popo in my Crib News:
Something tells me Pacman Jones has seen his final days in the NFL come and go. Jones is being sought for questionsing after an early morning shooting transpired at an Atlanta strip club which reportedly involved his entourage. I think you should probably get a new entourage, Pacman. One that's closer to Vinny Chase's than Tank Johnson's crew. Watch out Pacman, because the popo are on your tail!

News & Notes: 2006 AL MVP, Justin Morneau hit a walk-off homer in the Minnesota Twins win over the Milwaukee Brewers. The game also featured an inside the park homerun by 262 pound Prince Fielder...Since I haven't updated in a few days, I wanted to congratulate the San Antonio Spurs on their fourth championship in eight years...Congratulations to Jon Cryer (aka Duckie from Pretty in Pink) on his marriage to entertainment reporter Lisa Joyner...Finally, congratulations to Angel Cabrera on winning the U.S. Open on Sunday.
