Braves Update:
John Smoltz had to watch from the bench after missing his Sunday night's start against the Chicago Cubs because of his injured shoulder. Buddy Carlyle started in his place giving up just enough runs to allow the Braves to make a eighth inning come back that was capped by a wild pitch that scored Willie Harris in the Braves 5-4 win over the Cubs. After winning two straight the Braves were able to tie the series with the Cubs. The Braves have the day off before starting a series against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.

Braves Notes: Injured third baseman, Chipper Jones, is hoping to come off the DL in time for Tuesday's start...Edgar Renteria suffered a left hand contusion after being hit by a pitch during Sunday's game against the Cubs. X-rays taken came back negative.
Random Quote: “I told Joe Smith that Jesus Christ could have been pitching today and they were going to get some hits.” - Mets catcher Paul Lo Duca after the Mets 15-7 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Sunday (nytimes.com)
Normally, I would have a review of Sunday's race, but since I haven't watched it yet (I was in Batlimore over the weekend) and plan on watching it tonight, I'll comment on it tomorrow.
It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
