Going, going, gone

Andruw Jones hit a monster walk-off homerun to win the game for the Braves, 5-2 on Monday night. Only one day after Tim Hudson received the news that his grandmother, Vera and friend, Josh Hancock had died on Sunday, Hudson pitched eight stellar innings but left the game in 2-2 tie with the Philadelphia Phillies. But leave it to the Braves all-star center fielder, Andruw to win the game in the ninth. Jones, who is in the final year of his contract with the Braves, is proving why he gets paid the big bucks. With the win and the Mets 9-6 loss to the Marlins, the Braves move into first place in the NL East. Tonight the Braves continue their series with the Phillies at 7:35 PM/est on FSN. Mark Redman (0-3) will start against Phillies phenom, Cole Hamels (2-1).

Games ahead of New York Mets in NL East: 1/2

Braves Notes: Braves closer Bob Wickman was placed on the 15 day DL with back soreness.
