Do you sense a pattern?

The Braves began their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates this weekend, as well as you can winning both Friday and Saturday's games. But Sunday, didn't go quite like the other ones, as the Bucs took out their offensive frustration on the Braves in a 13-2 win. With the Mets taking 2 out of 3 in their series with the Milwaukee Brewers, the Braves remain only a 1/2 game in front of the Mets. One day before his 40th birthday, John Smotlz will take the mound against National's pitcher Jason Bergman tonight at 7:05 PM/est on SS.

Games ahead of NY Mets in NL East: .5
Games above .500: 11
NL Wild Card Leader: NY Mets

Braves notes: Star third baseman, Chipper Jones does not agree with the Braves super tough interleague schedule with features six games against the Boston Red Sox and a series against the Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, and Cleveland Indains.

So I taped Saturday's Nextel Cup Race and when I went to watch it, I realized that there was a rain delay and the race was postponed to Sunday. So I only, got to watch the final 60 laps. But the ending of the race seemed pretty fimiliar with Jeff Gordon picking up his 3rd win in the last four races and his seventh at Darlington. Denny Hamlin made a charge at the end, after a late race pit stop put him mid-pack but it was not enough. Hamlin, who had lead the most laps of the race finished second.

Shout outs to Dale Earnhardt, Jr. After a very stressful week, the number 8 finished eighth.

Congratulations to Sheryl Crow. She adopted a two week old baby boy, who she named Wyatt after her father.

This weekend I checked out the latest Spiderman movie. Let's just say it's almost 3 hours long, it takes forever to get started and I fell asleep before it ended. So I'd say, if you haven't seen it yet, wait for it to come out on DVD.

Don't forget to watch the season finale of "How I Met Your Mother" tonight at 8PM/est on CBS!

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
