Nothing says success like a shaving cream pie

Sorry for the delay this morning, I had some minor technical difficulties.

Baseball: Fernando Tatis notched his eighth career grand slam to push the Mets past the Rockies, 7-3...Yet all everyone is talking about is Omar Minaya's latest flub. Only Omar could make himself look like a bigger ass than the recently fired Tony Bernazard. So when are they firing Omar?...Not to be out done, Josh Willingham blasted two grand slams as the Nats battered the Brewers, 14-6...In a night where the Giants honored late team owner Sue Burns, Tim Lincecum struck out 15 as the Giants doubled up the Pirates...San Francisco acquired Ryan Garko from the Indians for minor league pitcher Scott Barnes...The Indians undid the Angels, 8-6...Alfonso Soriano uncorked a grand slam of his own to break up a 1 all tie in the 13th and give the Cubs a 5-1 victory over the Astros...The Rangers ended their six game slide, besting the Tigers, 5-2...Josh Beckett is the first in the AL to get to 12 wins after the Red Sox dominated the A's, 8-3...Boston was unable to make up any ground after the Yankees took out the Rays, 11-4. Nick Swisher had two homeruns in the game...The Twins edged the White Sox, 4-3...Although Minnesota will likely be without starter Kevin Slowely for the rest of the season...Tim Hudson could be returning to the Braves soon...And Brett Myers wants to return to the Phillies as a reliever...So Pete Rose is probably not going to be reinstated anytime soon.

Basketball: The Hornets have traded Tyson Chandler to the Bobcats for Emeka Okafor.

Football: Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated and could be playing as soon as early October. Now all he needs is a team to play for...Brandon Marshall showed up to Broncos camp. That should get him some brownie points, right?

Hockey: Marian Hossa has undergone shoulder surgery...The Maple Leafs have dealt Anton Stralman and Colin Stuart to the Flames for Qayne Primeau...Sidney Crosby is heading home and he's bringing the Cup with him...I wonder if his hometown welcome will be anything like Alexander Ovechkin's night out in Russia? Somehow I doubt it...Speaking of the Cup, do you think a homeless man who sent notes to Pens owner Mario Lemieux, Jordan Staal and Crosby had anything to do with their win?

Nascar: Allstate is discontinuing its sponsorship of Nascar's Indy race...Jamie McMurray was told he is free to talk to other owners about a ride next year. But yet somehow this still doesn't guarantee that Jamie will be the odd man out at Roush.

Best of the Rest: Good news, despite his recently singed skin, Tony Kanaan has been cleared to race...IndyCar is looking to add a date in Alabama in 2010...Illinois and Northwestern want to play a game at Wrigley...Let's just say Christmas cards will not be exchanged between Lance Armstrong and his teammate Alberto Contador...It appears Michael Phelps is not perfect (in the pool that is) after losing to Germany's Paul Biedermann in the 200-meter freestyle. Good thing this crap didn't happen at the Olympics!

Check this Out: It was break up central yesterday as three couples announced their splits. They included LeAnne Rimes and her hubby Dean, Joe Jonas and Camilla Belle and Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush.
