An Affair to Remember

It’s not exactly the happy ending people were expecting for former Nets forward Richard Jefferson and his fiancée former Net dancer Kesha Ni’Cole Nichols. Jefferson reportedly got cold feet and called off the $2 million wedding just hours before it was scheduled to take place.

But it doesn’t end there. A distraught Nichols told her friends and family the nuptials were off, however Jefferson failed to tell his friends not to show up to the swanky Mandarin Oriental, where the affair was to take place. Instead many of his “boys” made the trek to Columbus Circle only to find out that the wedding had been called off. But being the nice friend that he is, Jefferson loaned his black Amex for the night. Drinks on me tonight!

The moral of the story, it’s good to be friends with Richard Jefferson, just not good to be his fiancée.

UPDATE: We’re learning more about Jefferson’s called off nuptials; it appears he called it off a full five days before the wedding via email. I am not sure which is worse, calling it off two hours before the wedding face to face, or five days before via email. But don’t cry too hard for Kesha Ni’Cole (even if she can’t spell her name properly), she got a six figure settlement to make the break a bit easier. What a guy.
