3 Roundtrips

Baseball: Andruw Jones plowed three homers in the Rangers 8-1 hammering of the Angels. Welcome back Andruw, I've missed you!...Torii Hunter sat out the game with a strained adductor...Tim Wakefield notched his 11th win of the season as the Red Sox edged the A's, 5-4...Boston activated Jed Lowrie...Not picking up #11 was Kansas City's Zach Greinke who failed to get any offensive help asthe Tigers downed the Royals, 3-1...First time All-Star Ben Zobrist is proving his worth after hitting a three run homer and then driving in the winning run in the Rays 10-9 victory over the Blue Jays...Toronto released B.J. Ryan...In other walk off news, Shane Vicotrino lifted a RBI single with two outs in the ninth to give the Phillies the 3-2 victory over the Cardinals...Seriously, why haven't you voted for Shane Victorino yet?...Prince Fielder legged out a single that scored the go-ahead run as the Brewers topped the Cards, 5-4...I don't believe in superstitions (yeah right) but maybe Justin Morneau should have waited to announce he wasn't going to participate in the homerun derby until after the Twins played the Yankees...Not only did the Mets actually score a run, they scored five and got a win, with Oliver Perez on the mound. That like never happens for them anymore!...And if you still like torturing yourself by watching Mets games, this drinking game may make it a bit easier (thanks Howard!)...The Rockies completed a three game sweep of the Nationals, 10-4. Why couldn't the Braves do that?...Well at least they dropped the Cubs, 4-1...Chicago catcher Geovany Soto missed Wednesday's game with a mild left oblique strain...Avoiding a sweep were the Marlins who battered the Giants, 7-0. Florida pitcher Chris Volstad got his first career complete game shut out...World Anti-Doping Agency meet the Major League Baseball Players Union. A two year ban for a first positive test ain't happening anytime soon!

Basketball: In a crazy, convoluted four team trade/signing, the Mavs will get Shawn Marion...The Cavs have signed Anderson Varejao to a six year, $42.5 million contract. His hair alone makes this deal worth it...Speaking of awesome hair, the Nuggets have re-signed Chris "Birdman" Andersen to a five year contract...Antonio McDyess is joining the Spurs...The League has given the Rockets an injury exemption for Yao Ming...LeBron James doesn't like being dunked on by some college kid, so that's why he's taken all evidence and burned it in a very secret place (his home) where you will never, ever, ever see it again. Or will you? But for now you can see a dramatization of it here or listen to Jordan Crawford talk about it here.

Football: The popo in Nashville are ruling Steve McNair's death and the death of his girlfriend a murder suicide. So sad...On the lighter side, Ochocinco is promising to tweet during the game. Maybe that will make Bengals games more watchable.

Hockey: Despite a minor clerical error, the Blackhawks were able to sign Kris Versteeg, all for the low low price of a three year contract worth $9.25 million. GM Dale Tallon had this to say about the deal "We're in good shape and we're legal," Well thank God...The Ducks signed Saku Koivu to a one year deal worth $3.25 million...The Stars acquired Alex Auld from the Senators...Claude Lemieux has retired.

Nascar: Tony Stewart is praising Goodyear for once. Mark this date on your calendar because it may never happen again...Oh and Tony says things are all good between he and Kyle Busch...Elliott Sadler thinks things are going to run a lot smoother at Petty. Smoother than when they tried to fire you?...O'Reilly Auto Parts has signed on as the sponsor of this year's race at Darlington.

Best of the Rest: If you can't beat them Mountain West Conference, just join them...Lance Armstrong is still not leading in France...He may not be better than ever, but even at his worst Michael Phelps is still better than 99.99999% of the world in swimming...The US blanked Honduras, 2-0 in the Gold Cup.
