Say Cheese

Baseball: The Yankees just can't anything against the Red Sox after falling 7-3. The Bombers remain winless against their arch rivals this season. And to make matters worse, they'll be without catcher Jorge Posada for at least 15 days...Meanwhile the Mets not only matched but surpassed their win total at Turner Field last season with a 4-3 victory. Although K-Rod sure made things interesting in the ninth...The Dodgers tied a MLB record with their 12-0 start at Dodger Stadium. Their most recent win coming after they downed the D'Backs, 3-1...The Brewers extended their win streak against the Pirates to 17 games after topping Pittsburgh, 8-5...Shane Victorino and Jayson Werth's big night lead to a 10-7 Phillies victory. And they did it without the aid of second baseman Chase Utley...The Cardinals Rick Ankeil, who had a scary meeting with the wall during Monday's loss to the Phillies, has been released from the hospital...Four games went into extra innings including the Nationals and Astros, who are stuck in the eleventh, tied at 10 a piece. The game will be made up in Houston in July...And the White Sox who were edged out by the Royals in 11...Not only did the Rangers beat the Mariners, 7-2 in 10 innings, but they got word that Josh Hamilton should be back in the line-up next week...The ex-girlfriend who was suing Roberto Alomar has dropped her case.

Basketball: The Nuggets routed the Mavs, 117-105 to take a 2-0 series lead...As if that wasn't bad enough, Dallas lost Josh Howard to a sprained ankle...I think it's pretty much official, you do not want to play the Cavs in Cleveland. Especially not after their 99-72 victory over the Hawks...Congratulations to basketball legend Dave Bing on being elected Mayor of Detroit. As a victory celebration gift, you get the chance to buy a house for a $1. Now go crazy!

Football: Sources are saying Brett Favre may return to the NFL as QB of the Minnesota Vikings. Like a said a couple of days ago, PLEASE JUST STAY RETIRED, BRETT!!...Michael Vick had a very nice meeting with former Colts head coach Tony Dungy in jail. I am getting flashes of Madea goes to Jail in my head right now...See what happens when you get arrested, your team cuts you!...The NFL is planning on celebrating the AFL's 50th birthday this season.

Hockey: Proving yet again that the regular season don't mean a thing, the Ducks took a 2-1 series lead, edging the Red Wings, 2-1...The Canucks handled the Hawks, 3-1 to take a 2-1 series lead...The on going saga of the Phoenix Coyotes has a new chapter. After filing for bankruptcy, against the league's wishes, BlackBerry billionaire Jim Balsille has made an offer to buy the beleaguered club and move them to Southern Ontario...Oh and hey, remember when I wrote the NHL hadn't taken over the Coyotes yet, well yet has arrived. Because of that whole bankruptcy filing, the League has taken over the team...And I seriously doubt the League would sell to Russian billionaire Alexander Medvedev, the owner of Russia's Continental Hockey League (KHL) who has expressed interest in buying an NHL team.

Nascar: Petty Motorsports will try a new engine at Dover. Depending on their confidence level, either Kasey Kahne, A.J. Allmendinger, Elliott Sadler or Reed Sorenson will get the test engine while the others will get the standard fare.

Best of the Rest: The Big 10 is not expanding to 12, JoePa...Michael Phelps's suspension is over and he didn't even realize it. [Insert Phelps pot joke here or in the comments section]...Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has been ordered to stay in the US until the swine flu outbreak curtails...I think someone was a little to quick to yell out they were number one, especially after they lost in the second round of the WTA Rome claycourt International. I think we all know who I am talking about, Serena.
