Raining Hats

Baseball: Royals ace Zach Greinke notched his sixth win of the season as Kansas City blanked the White Sox, 3-0...There is no beating the Dodgers when they're the home team it seems after they picked up their 11th win this season, beating the D'backs, 7-2...Phillies slugger Ryan Howard hit a grand slam while Rick Ankiel had to be carted off the field after slamming into the wall, so overall not a great night for the Cards...Cole Hamels appears ready to go for Friday after injuring his ankle in his last start...Considering he didn't even travel to Pittsburgh with the team, the Brewers were surely happy Ryan Braun was able to get into the line-up, tying the game with a double. Ricky Weeks then hit a towering fly that gave the Brewers the 7-4 win...The Cubs have placed Carlos Zambrano on the DL with a hamstring injry...And then beat ...Josh Barfield's single in the 12th inning drove in the Indians winning run as they outlasted the Jays, 9-7...The Marlins needed 14 innings to dispose of Reds, 3-2...After a rain delay, the Red Sox KOed the Yankees, 6-4...The Nationals are expected to pick Stephen Strasburg #1 overall in this year's MLB draft.

Basketball: After taking a 28 point lead, the Magic held off a charging Celtics team to win, 95-90. Orlando has an early 1-0 series lead...The Rockets stunned the Lakers, 100-92 to take the 1-0 series lead...Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin received a $25,000 fine for his foul on the Mavs Dirk Nowitzki during game 1...Congratulations to LeBron James on being named MVP.

Football: Government investigators have begun to try to figure out what caused the Cowboy's facility collapse...The Steelers released LB Larry Foote...Correy Edmonson has sued Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth for $7.5 million over a car crash in December...Super Bowl and NFC Championship rings were stolen out of a car owned by Packers executive Reggie McKenzie. Watch out sticky fingers, because the popo are on your tail!


Hockey: Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin both had hat tricks, but it was a goal by Dave Steckel that was the difference in the Caps 4-3 victory over the Pens. With the win, the Capitals have taken a 2-0 series lead...The Kings Dustin Brown, the Canadiens Alexei Kovalev and the Blue Jackets Rick Nash have been named finalists for the NHL Foundation Player Award.
