LSC Recap:
Tampa Bay Rays @ Boston Red Sox
B.J. Upton blasted his fifth homerun of the post season as the Rays were able to chase Red Sox starter Jon Lester out before the end of the sixth inning in their 9-1 victory. Evan Longoria followed Upton’s shot with a solo homer of his own to give the Rays a 5-0 lead. The Red Sox threatened but a Rocco Baldelli round-tripper put the game out of reach for Boston.

Philadelphia Phillies @ Los Angeles Dodgers
It was back and forth all night but the Phillies were able to get a game winning performance out of pinch-hitter Matt Stairs that put them in front of the Dodgers for good in their 7-5 win. Dodger’s pitcher Derek Lowe started out a bit shaky allowing the Phillies to score two runs in the top of the first inning, but LA cut the lead in half by the end of that inning and took a one run lead in the fifth as Lowe was able to settle in. Alas, the Fightin’s has some resiliency left in them, as Shane Victorino launched a game tying homer in a four run eighth that sealed the victory for the Phillies
