Philadelphia Phillies v. Milwaukee Brewers
Rickie Weeks’ error along with Mike Cameron's miscue in centerfield allowed the Phillies to score three runs in the third and that was all they needed as they picked up a 3-1 victory. The Brewers threatened in the ninth inning, with two outs and the go ahead run at the plate, but Brad Lidge struck out Corey Hart to end the game and give the Phils an early 1-0 lead in the Series. This was the first postseason win for the Phillies since 1993.

Phillies Lead Series: 1-0
Chicago Cubs v. Los Angeles Dodgers
Although the prevailing thought was the weather conditions would hinder homeruns, that went out the window as Mark DeRosa launched a line drive down right field that landed in the bleachers to give the Cubs an early 2-0 lead. But that was the only runs they would score, as Ryan Dempster was unable to get himself out of a fifth inning jam, giving up a grand slam to James Loney, which ultimately undid the Cubbies. Manny Ramirez and Russell Martin added solo shots as the Dodgers pounded the Cubs, 7-2.
WP: Derek Lowe (1-0) LP: Ryan Demspter (0-1)
Dodgers Lead Series: 1-0
Los Angeles Angels v. Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox continue to hamper the Angels collecting their 10th straight playoff victory against the Halos with their 4-1 win. Jon Lester was brilliant allowing one run in seven innings. That run was quickly off-set by Jason Bay - acquired in the Manny Ramirez trade – who hit a two run homer off of John Lackey in the sixth to give the Sox a lead they would not relinquish.
