heck of a debut

Basketball: The Suns edged the Hawks, 102-100, but former MVP Steve Nash hurt his ankle in the win...The Clippers rallied for a 116-112 victory over the Kings.

College Basketball: Bob Knight says he's open to coaching again. Ah, my prayers have been answered!...BYU forward Chris Collinsworth and his friend David Ferguson were stabbed while on a Mormom mission in Australia. Both were hospitalized but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Watch out stabber(s), because the popo are on your tail!

College Football: Tommy Bowden's buyout will have to come from Clemson's pocket and not the State. Nice to see we're starting to get a little more responsible with tax-payer's money...Despite being 2-4, Michigan athletic director Bill Martin still has Rich Rodriguez's back...Oh and Michigan's Mike Milano has been suspended indefinitely after beating a Michigan hockey player. Watch out Mike, because the popo are on your tail!...Sad news, Tom II, the mascot of the University of Memphis has passed away. He was 17 years old...

Football: Tony Romo was throwing on Wednesday and expressed a desire to play on Sunday...Meanwhile current/former teammate Pacman Jones is going to rehab. Is Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab already filming season 3?...John McCargo failed a physical, voiding his trade to the Indianapolis Colts...Could we see spring preseason games in the future?...Sad news, former Charger Chris Mims was found dead in his apartment. He was 38 years old.



Hockey: Talk about a debut, Stars rookie Fabian Brunnstrom not only scored his first goal, but recorded his first hat trick in Dallas' 6-4 beating of the Predators...The Rangers are no longer undefeated after succumbing to the Sabres, 3-1...The Ducks remain winless after falling to the Oilers, 3-2...Maple Leafs left-winger Ryan Hollweg received a three game suspension after his fourth game misconduct.

Nascar: Paul Newman's race helmet sold for $40,000 at auction. I'd say someone walked home with a bargain...Unilever is loving JR Motorsports...Everyone who makes fun of New Jersey, meet Paulie Harraka. Apparently he's supposed to a big start in Nascar one day and yes, he's from New Jersey!

Best of the Rest: Seve Ballestreros suffered a complication following his brain surgery, forcing doctors had to remove a portion of his skull to relieve pressure. He is currently in sable condition.
Check this out: Last week, ABC premiered a great new cop show, Life on Mars. The premise is a bit sci-fi, cop in 2008 gets hit by a car and transported back to 1973, but the characters, writing and acting is all top notch.
