Rocco's Modern Life



Baseball: The Red Sox are reportedly on the verge of two major signings, veteran pitcher John Smoltz and DH/outfielder Rocco Baldelli...Even though the Dodgers have offered him a contract, it looks like Trevor Hoffman may be moving to Milwaukee...The Giants maybe interested in Manny Ramirez, but not for his asking price...Kevin McClatchy is ending his 13 year partnership with the Pirates.

Basketball: The Cavs stay perfect at home with a 111-81 bombing of the Bobcats...Meanwhile the Celtics remain ice cold, falling to the Rockets, 89-85...The Blazers put an end the Pistons seven game win streak with a 79-75 victory...The Denver Nuggets have traded point guard Chucky Atkins and a first round pick to the Thunder for center Johan Petro and a second round pick.

College Basketball: After taking out #UNC, Boston College got a shock of their own, losing to Harvard, 82-70...#2 Duke was able to overcome Stephon Curry's 29 points as they defeated Davidson, 79-67.

College Football: Don't forget, tonight's the National Championship game!

Football: LaDainian Tomlinson confirmed he has a torn tendon in his groin and will not play in Sunday's game against the Steelers...Pacman Jones is learning that he cannot outrun his past and so are the Cowboys who have released the troubled CB...Well that was quick. After about a week of being unemployed Eric Mangini is expected to be announced as the Browns new head coach.



Hockey: The Canadiens scored four goals in the final period including an empty netter by Robert Lang which gave him a hat trick in their 6-3 win over the Rangers...Mats Sundin was scoreless in his Canucks debut, but Vancouver had a very nice night picking up the 4-2 win...The Maple Leafs have acquired Brad May from the Ducks for a sixth round draft pick...Jarkko Ruutu got a two game suspension for his biting incident...The rest of the west all-star team has been announced.
